    Hi

Im new here and i was wondering where to go on a two day, 2 nights on a weekend on dumaguete

I will most probably be just taking pictures of the city, landmarks, beaches, or whatever interesting places and sceneries there is in the area

arriving early morning of saturday and will leave early morning of monday

this is kind of unplanned trip so i haven't browse the web much for interesting places to stay and visit, so i give this site a shot  maybe a detail itinerary would be very much appreciated

greetings; i would strongly recommend you go out to dauin and visit the beach resorts--maybe have lunch @ the eldorado. there are some extremely beautiful areas south of there, heading out past Zam... rice and cane fields etc..

I thought much along the Boulevard was photogenic....sunset was ok...maybe better on a good day - and with the rain arriving that may impede things. Sorry no idea about sunrise....LOL...never seen one on vacation...Catch them every day on the way to work here...and don't appreciate them much....

Rice and cane....if you are only there for a couple days- I suspect you've seen and done that a lot elsewhere around the islands. But have a good look around - I'm no artist but I thought the area was pretty nice, like many others in the country, and I'm sure with some skill and time you can get some outstanding shots.

actually the sunrise at the boulevard is great, there is no real sunset in this area (meaning the sun "falls" in the sea)as the sun sets behind the mountains. I saw some great sunsets when on the evening ferry to siquijor, different to the postcard images, but stunning.

For 2 days you might wanna spend one day in town, where you can basically take pictures of everything in walking-distance. For the second day I would recommend to hire a car with driver and go around beaches, waterfalls, lakes and so on.

    cheers

Here is a link to Sta. Monica Beach Resort. Looks like their least expensive rate is about $29 USD. This is a nice resort, good food (great seafood in the evening at "Sugba") and a very nice staff. You would have very nice views of the sunrise/sunset, and it's about 20 minutes to downtown by trike. Their pool is very nice, as well!

They have a sign offering 30% off for weekend reservations --

R&S, as Rhoody already replied to Garbonzo, there is no sunset to be seen at St. Monica or the whole east coast, except far south.
The sun used to 'sleep' at the west side of us

and the recommended Resort can be recommended like watching a beautiful sunset in Dumaguete.
It is old, no beach, not maintained since 2 years (since it is for sale) and very hard to leave unless you walk forever to the mainstreet or agree to overpriced transfer.

There are some nice Hotels in Dumaguete City (800 +peso with aircon, Internet etc.) , which will be perfect for starting your tours there.

From 1500 peso on are nice rooms in resorts in Bacong and Dauin available.

Check out the town of Valencia and visit the Valencia falls.
It is very close, about 6 km but you will need someone to drive you there. I asked my hotel (Residencia al Mar) to help me hire someone. The trip is very pleasant, sights are beautiful but involves lots of walking and to get to the falls you need to be in good physical shape.
