    Hi

my name is Romano, I am a swiss/italian guy now living in Manila ( Makati) and wanting to try to live in the province for at least 6 months.I am looking for anything FURNISHED, studio, apartment or house, as long as it is QUIET.
I am also willing to ' switch' my condo in Makati ( 1 bedroom, furnished) for something in Dumaguete, if somebody want to live in Manila for a few months ( longer is possible because I do not intend to relocate anyway in Manila after Dumaguete).
I lived in Cagayan de Oro for one year and found it too polluted and chaotic.
I tried Manila for 8 months, and after a few months I got bored with a city where moving from point A to point B has become virtually impossible.
Heard a lot of good things about Dumaguete and want to give it a try.

    Thanks to all, Romano

    Welcome Romano to the forum.
If you really want to stay at a quiet place and not in the city itself (where it very likely won't be quiet also ) then we can offer you a studio in a gated beachpark at 24 km south of Dumaguete.
Of course the beachpark is at the sea
If there is interest send me a PM and i will give the details you want.

    welcome to DI,

thanks for starting a your own topic

great to have you hear. I am not sure if you will like Dumaguete as a City itself, downtown Dumaguete is pretty much polluted and dirty. Some surrounding municipalities are really nice but "dead" in terms of basically anything, so you will have plenty trips into Dumaguete.

My advice is always to stay a few days in a Hotel, rent a motorbike and roam around. There are plenty of apartments and houses for rent but in many cases it comes down to the neighborhood (chicken, karaoke, dogs...). So also visit the place yuo might wanna rent at evening night and morning, or ask the landlord if you can stay a night there.

    cheers for now

    Rhoody

    Hi Jellifish

thanks for your quick reply.Of course I would be interested to know more about the studio you are talking about, can you please quote the monthly rent, minimum rental period, location, if it's furnished ( any ref?), and if there is an internet connection.

    Thanks in advance,Romano

    Hi,
my condo is located in Polarisstreet 30, fifth floor. It is 100 meter from Makati Avenue ( Pacific Star Building), 50 meter from Burgos street. It is near everything, GLORIETTA is a 20 minute walk, Plant Rockwell 10 minutes. It is quiet with a nice, unobstructed city view.
    Perfect security.It is a ' low rise' condo ( only 10 floors).Airport is a 15 minutes drive by taxi.

    Regards,Romano

What is the meaning of that?
If You stay at the outskirts of Dumaguete the place is as "dead" as a surrounding town.
In a town near Dumaguete you still have the advantage of a market with limited items You will need so now and than.
And transportation (easyride) to Dumaguete will cost you only a few pesos and besides of the "dead" aeria You have space

I agree with you totally, just would add to your post "very" limited items, and for Dumaguete "limited" items.

and yes, you need really a lot of space to be far away from the dogs and chicken
