    How safe is Dumaguete..

@Elaine.LOL people here in dumaguete is as civilized as you. so youre safe. with 5 university i think , and maybe 5 colleges, how much cevilized can it get. again your safe.. 50% of the population are university student, who doesnt want to pick a fight. there your safe. 30% are hospital employee, government, and university employee. so they are professionals who understand right from wrong, again your safe. maybe 10% are farmers who dont have problem with there daily food. again youre safe cuz this people are not hungry. and maybe 5% to 7%expats who are just having a good time drinking beer and chasing women. there again , i dont know if your safe or not. heheh. but remember most of them are civilized too. so there ,your safe.. so lets say 2 % are odd balls.. its not that a big of a deal. so let it be.. after all we dont live in a perfect world... therefore i conclude that DUMAGUETE is a very safe place to stay..

@gmcvandura. We are still in South Africa. Hoping to be able to get away from here ASAP but will most likely only be able to leave in +- June 2011. It seems so far away still! But then again, if we win the Lotto, WE ARE OUT OF HERE LOL! Are you in Duma now? I see from your status that you show you are in Canada? We really miss Dumaguete. All we want is a safe and reasonably cool place to stay (maybe Valencia), a multicab which we would put aircon in if we can, and we would be very happy. We live a simple quiet life. We miss Jollybee, LP, Dumaguete Fried Chicken, the Boulevard, Flight Centre 2000 (if it is still there!), getting our fish and vegetables at the market early in the morning, snorkelling off the beach at Noreco, Mangnao; the Malatapay market on a Wednesday, the Siaton market, Cassava cake!! Oh how we miss Cassava cake. :-( All we can do now is look at our photographs and our videos and dream of the day we are back there...............

Hi Elaine, Im here now in canada.I just arrived here last march 17.,,Dumaguete city is still a very safe place compared to other places. in my openion.. And I always want to go back there as much as i can, until my feet gives up on me.
Ill be flying there again this sept. I want to finoish the house im building. its 95 %done. so all i can say is that I thank God that Ive seen this place in my retireng age. because if not ill be stock here in Canada, and all you can do is just play in the Casino. thats all retired people here do.

for you still quite far june 2011. but time just fly, by the time you realized you are ther already.. so God bless.
