Does Skycable offer internet along with their cable service as a bundle in dumaguete? If so, how are their internet speeds? Does Skycable also offer telephone? I would love to just bundle everything together if possible!!

Skycable has a bundle cable service and internet only no telephone, the highest speed so far is 1mbps for a bundle price of around 2180 Pesos I'm no sure but its less than 2500 Pesos. Although year 2008 their agents are spinning as a hype that Skycable Zepdee upgrading is near to Skybroadband in which the max speed will be 12mbps, sad to say that marketing talk doesn't happen til now:eek:

The only internet connection that will reach up Candau-ay areas is through Globelines, but only limited slots available for their box. Skycable Internet connections didn't reach the area yet. The Smartbro antennas can't pickup anymore the signals coming from the nearest cellsite which is located in Bagacay.

    Next question then........

So, my next question would be "what cable IS available in Candau ay or are we just screwed? Surely the residents at Casa Alicia across the street from where we will be living have some sort of service (can't imagine them doing without cable!!) Also, would Globelines be the only internet available?
    Thanks!!

Im surprised smartbro cannot reach candauy as you can get it even on the ferries crossing from mindoro to iloilo

Smartbro depends on line of sight between your antenna and there receiver. A hill, tall building or even tall trees and your out of luck. I live within the city and I have a 30 or 40 foot antenna mounted on the peak of a 2 story house. Skycable is not available all over the city so I have Phil Products for cable TV, but they don't have internet. Some people have to depend on satellite dish for TV. We went around to the offices of all the providers and they each sent out technicians to tell us if they could provide service. Typical Philippine service, not always efficient but always with a smile.

@Bikerdave: I guess you're thinking on the internet USB connection that even if you are in ferries and still can get signals (globe tattoo/smart mobile). Those are pretty slow and billed you about 20pesos per hour. That's different from the Smartbro Atennas I'm talking about. Fil Products Cable TV6 is available in Candau-ay areas and you may use the Nokia Dream Satellite TV for another option.
