Scrolling down the pages of the Forum I find there are now a lot of phrases and words with a double underline. As the mouse is rolled over them it keeps coming up with a link to Infolink. Is there any way to get rid of this very annoying feature, or is it something that I am stuck with and have to learn to live with ?????

Thanks in advance for any advice.

    Roger.

Really to tell the truth it is annoying. Maybe they are a sponser but they are most of the time not even relevant to the topic at all. If they are not a money maker maybe you can dump them Mr. Dane.

I just finally got curious and see that it is supposed to be a potential money maker, but like many things on the web, maybe it will only be a passing fad or are they the next Amazon?

or you could just download the new firefox web browser. then get the ad block plus plugin and you will not see advertisements unless you want to. That's what I do.

Infolinks is indeed helping us pay server cost, beats a membership fee doesn't it?

Yo ucan opt out of seeing Infolinks on DI by clicking this link: Pay Per Click Advertising by Infolinks - In Text Ads for Websites

Scroll all the way to the bottom and click the last link in the article saying "click here to opt out"

That will block the Infolink ads. at least until you clear your cookies

Thanks for the advice and suggestions, as I am not particularly knowledgeable about computers. So I took The Danes advice and clicked the link that he suggested. Then I scrolled to the bottom of the page where it says "click here to opt out" and I clicked it. And guess what happened - nothing. It just reverts to the previous page and the irritating Infolink ads are still there !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GGGGrrrrrrrrr Any other suggestions please.............

    Thanks

    Roger

I didn't have a problem with that issue at all. I see only a few words double underlined on each page what never bothered me. Now that the Dane explains it, I will just click on it from time to time, the guy deserves it for providing all that information  .

I don't have any difficulty with words being double underlined - trust me !!!!! The irritation comes from scrolling down and trying to avoid the underlining in order to avoid the Infolink advert. Additionally, each time a new page is loaded it seems to freeze the page for a while while it decides which words to underline.

There was no intention on my part to challenge the merits of Infolink - if it helps to pay the bills that's fine. I simply wanted to know if there was a way to by-pass the feature.

    thanks

    Roger

The opt out doesn't work for me either.
