Hi all,
We are finally here in Dumaguete, permanently!! Taking it easy in the Demonteverde Hotel. Very small, nothing to write home about, hotel, but has a bed, tv, wif-fi and a shower, so we will survive for a couple of days. Tomorrow my daughter and I will be out shopping for a few things to get us by until our belongings arrive, in about a week or so. Looking forward to meeting up with all of you one of these days!!

Congrats on your long awaited arrival. I will finally be arriving in Dumaguete 6 days from today not to stay perm but just to visit. Lately I have been seeing a lot of your posts up here on the boards so I can imagine your excitement about actually making it in.

 

From what I can remember, "Gimmick" is located right next door to {or just nearby} Casa Demonteverde. You can grab a bite to eat there, or even play a game of outdoor Billiards.... and it even looks like it would be wheelchair accessible for the most part....cheers..

 

Thanks everyone!! We should have come to Dumaguete in the first place but my husband didn't think I would like it here!! He does NOT know me, obviously!! Why he would think a country girl like me would prefer MANILA over Dumaguete is beyond me!! Anyway, here we are and I am looking so forward to meeting everyone!!

I actually think Casa is a is a bit overlooked, maybe due to it's location. But like you said small and all you need in general for a few days. Quiet location, clean under 700 peso, I think, so valuable (unless you get the pink bedshets... hehehe
Wish you all the best here in Duma. If you see a big boy with cap roaming through the street, just throw something as a "Hello"

I hear you have found a 'not-available' hotel so I now will order the crabs home.
If you trow something else then 'Hello" to Rhoody, be sure it is an SMB bottle which is NOT empty and still cool (but only after dark !!!)

 

Still cool? Try ice cold, which seems to be as unavailable as the hotel rooms here. You guys are caught up in finding the right internet connections and schools, my priority would be to find the place which has the coldest beer. If you ever need help with that one, let me know!

 

Dudster, you are in a lucky position, you are happy with a few ice cold ones. I know a couple of places, but most of them run out of ice-cold if I start getting into real drinking mood :( ...
