⌛ Price to Paint House

I am hoping to get some input on what is a fair price to have a house painted inside and out. The house is approx 160sqm.

Hard to tell with that info, 160 sqm can have many walls and storeys. Depending also iw you want all proper cleaned or if not needed, 1 - 3 layers of paint AND if you have somebody to kick butt.

I was told once they need "maybe 5-10 days". After I was with the whip behind them it was done in 2.5 days.

"head painter" 300 PHP/day
"normal painter" 250 PHP/day

plus paint and brushes, some food and drinks.

It is common practise with packjaw jobs to estimate the total duration of the job
x3 or x4
It is also common practise to discuss the price to lower the amount asked.

 

well, it is a simple matter of having a sh@$-job done in 10 days or a good one in 2.5 AND 10k saved.

I am not paying the money for them to enjoy, I pay to get a job done.

 

If you want your house painted by a professional Painter & decorator, British standard. I charge £25 per hour plus expensives.

 

Plus "expensives"? ROFL!

 

That's why I'm a painter and not a professor. anyway I thought this was a spell friendly site.

It was very interesting to obtain from you informations about the price of painting a house. Normally 10 days, but with a whip in the back of the painter it can be done much faster.

Is it not better instead of days for painting to ask for a cost "packjaw" estimate? How much is normally requested per square?

It certainly would be better ....

... In a country where things are working the way people "promise" without watching and controlling each single step...

It would be a very interesting and funny thread about the excuses why things didn't work out like estimated, calculated and even signed.

You can go in each construction side here, even without being an architect it will take you less than 5 minutes and you ask yourself " Why is ______ (fill in the blanks) that way, that makes no sense ?"

When hiring a crew for a job like painting, you have usually one guy who has a bit an idea about it and the rest are friends who are today painter, tomorrow gardener the day after plumber and after that real estate agents as a cousin sells a lot.

They are all nice guys but need to be controlled as the "head of" won't do that. If not you also will need about 2 - 3 times the building material as it "somehow" disappears. Don't wonder if you need 50 sqm tiles for a 30 sqm. room and the work is completed with the very last tile of the last pack ...
