Any advice or recommendations on where to buy a new A/C unit over there? My Wife just called and said that the one in Our Guest house just took a crap and the Technician wants 3000 pesos to fix it. It's at least 10+ Years old, so it may be better just to replace it with a newer more efficient model.. Cheers....

Better get a new 1 instead. It is more efficient having a new one and you can buy a/c now for less than 10,000 pesos. I bought 1 carrier in robinsons appliance center last xmas and its good. And its cheap.

Last year i was also convassing the price of airconsets and found out that the appliancecenter in Robinson's was the cheapest but as far as i know Panasonic brand has one of the lowest energyconsumption for aircons and this brand was not available in Robinson's
By the way it is not clear if we talk here of a windowtype or splittype aircon.

But if your not up to buying a brand new. Better know what is the problem of your a/c. There are some technicians that can repair a/c and on some shops like robinsons they have contacts with them where they can refer you. Those people are more ligitimate than taking frrom someone who ask money first before it will be repaired.

hey fruitfly if you weren't so cheap maybe you would buy your sh*t from a ligitimate place like pos instead of shoping at an ukay ukay store. and by the way flies eat sh*t

Sorry, but I guess I should have specified which type. I'm looking for a window type a/c unit, and judging by the responses I've gotten so far it looks like We'll be checking out both Robinson's place and POS Marketing. I Myself am kind of partial to, and leaning towards the Carrier brand. They seem to be fairly reputable/reliable here in the States. Samsung would be another good choice though, They make excellent T.V'S, so I'm sure Their a/c units are of similar quality.. Thanks for the Quick responses...........cheers............

Look also for the energy efficiancy label.
It is a yellow card on the units like refrigerators or aircons
Not all appliancestores in Dumaguete have this labels.
