    Yesterday...

My husband and I are seriously considering taking a break from a hectic NYC-area life. We want to take our 2 babies (2yrs and 10 mos) to Dumaguete/Tanjay and let them run, swim and climb trees. Just for one year.

    Today...

We're actually here in Tanjay and will leave in a couple of weeks.

Well, that was quite a quick decision.

A quick question, quick answer. Quick relocation. Nice!

Hahaha! We've been vacationing here for the past few weeks. Next year, we hope to come back and stay for a year.

I already see that one advantage of living here is that people's sense of humor is alive and well. Any other advantages?

Here is another of the "strange" posts : "My husband and I are seriously considering taking a break from a hectic NYC-area life. We want to take our 2 babies (2yrs and 10 mos) to Dumaguete/Tanjay" et cetera.

Is it Tanjay ? Or is it Dumaguete ? Let's not compare apples and oranges...

Personally I would be bored to death if I was confined in Tanyay - Last time I passed by (to go to Bacolod) I did not see any expatriate walking about and the place is, well - compared to Duma, pretty dreadful, and is not all that close to Duma either...

Schools ? I've never heard that 2 years old and 10 months old toddlers go to "school" or "climb trees" , unless they are orangutans ! the post doesn't make much sense to me . Apparently nobody of the Forum noticed these inconsitencies... Am I paranoic ?

So what were the pros and cons? How long did you last in Tanjay??

    Thanks, Mark

Its all good here even if you are from NY,,until you try to be too cheap and eat from a basic down to earth eatery for really cheap and get stomach regrets and hard labour on the toilet..

I have been eating regularly from a variety of local eateries for 7 years, and have never had any "stomach regrets or hard labor on toilet" derived from it, with the exception of really spicy stuff which is normal.
