Bisaya is a general term. It could mean the dialect spoken in all of the visayas region. You could be more specific. Tagalog seemed to call bisaya anyone who came from visayas and mindanao. So try to ask again.

why not try one basic word or sentence a day?

    maayong buntag - good morning
    maayong gabii- good evening
asa ka paingon? - where are you goin?
    kgwapa nimo - youre gorgeous
    asa dapit... -where is...

like youre goin to use it in sentence...

maayong buntag asa dapit ang mercado?

good morning! do u know where the market is?

just a basic word day would make you speak cebuano dialect in the long run.
no need of private tutor or a book to learn bisaya. just try to converse with bisayan people and you will learn... even a 5 year old kid could teach you a cebuano dialect.

    hope this would help...
