Hi all, again........This time I am in search of a good ophthalmologist (or optometrist) who can get a difficult prescription correct. I have extreme astigmatism, severe near-sightedness, and have had to have surgery to correct adult-onset cross-eyes 3 years ago and am still battling that, oh, and I need bifocals, too. I am not expecting anyone here with all my problems, but if anyone here has had a good experience with a doctor, I would appreciate the name and number!! Thanks, AGAIN!!

    Good day!

You can try Dr. Derek Jabines, he's a well-known opthalmologist. Ask at Silliman Medical Center, where his clinic is located.

If not, you can also try, Dr. Gerardo P. Cinco...he's one of the older ophthalmologist here in the city.

Hi Reedee. My eyes wouldn't be much better than yours! Multi-focal etc...etc. Who do you get your glasses from in Manila? They are costing me $800-1000 here...

Thanks for all the wonderful suggestions.....I had seen the ACES next to the hypermart and was thinking that they would be a good start. Garbonzo, I haven't bought any glasses since I left the states....I expect them to not be cheap!! I always had insurance in the states and I would still have to fork over around $200 of my own money!!

    ophthalmologist

Yes, Lana, an ophthalmologist is my first choice because of my extensive problems. However, I have known some wonderful optometrists through the years, who were just as good and thorough as some ophthalmologists. I wasn't sure what my choices here were going to be, to tell you the truth. Absolutely, though, I would prefer an M.D. keep an eye on my eyes!! :D
