small correction, you don't need a return ticket.

All you need is an outbound-ticket from the PI, that can be a Clark - Singapore ticket for 26$ or to KK for 699 Peso.

 Now Roody you confuse me. At Madrid Airport Last Dec I was very nearly not allowed to travel due to only 5 months on my Passport, it was because of this that they looked further in to Entry visa for Manila. I was then asked for the Full Paper ticket to check. The Airline informing me I did need a return Ticket. Are they playing games, If there is something I am not aware of on the 16a can you let me know so I can readjust my tickets for my return from Spain in August, (Could be late July Job went well) I will not need to leave Duma this year again so all cost saved will be Good, Mind a One Way from Spain at some levels are more expensive than One ways.

I do believe that you had a kind of miss-communication/understanding with the airline as they basically only speak about one way or return ticket if you don't ask specifically for other options. There is even some confusion on official foreign embassy-websites.

Many traveler and back-packer come to the PI with a one-way and outbound ticket to travel to other SEA destinations. Any e-ticket from a discount airline is enough.

It is law that your passport need to be valid at least 6 month from the date of entry, so they were correct.

For your VISA question, I have no idea. Just know my own situation that I can stay 24 month and need to renew each 2 month. I don't even have a clue what visa-number that is and would lie if I would say that I am interested in that, sorry.

Shadow is the Visa expert here.

    cheers

:o Larry, Roody tells me you are the Visa Expert Here, sorry to inject this item on the thread but hope you can help here, I am on a 16a Non-Quota Visa through marriage, it is renewed every 11 months and I have to leave for 2/3 days, we normally go to HK for a long W/E and a bit of Shopping. Now it is my understanding that a Return Ticket or an onward Ticket is required, for my Visa, can you throw some light on this for me. Up until 2008 I used to come on the 20 day rule and extend locally. I have never been asked for the Return ticket evidence only at the Departing Airport. Any help and/or suggestions will do the Job for me.

    Regards JP.

:o Thanks for the input! I have asked Shadow for a little help here, I would add if I may, that I did have 6 months on the Pass Port but was unaware of the exact wording on the immigration Web Site. It states, there should be 6 clear months after the intended date of departure, I arrived in Manila on DEC 20th 2009 and My Leaving date for Spain was JAN 30th 2010, as my Pass Port expires 30th JUNE 2010 I was in fact only 5 clear months at my departure date.
The Reason I think I was allowed to enter was that I had a Return Ticket dated 30th JAN and I was Going Home for Xmas. Just a thought for anyone else that may have the same lack of Forethought I had on not reading the rules properly.:o

    ps. I have renewed.

Normally you can not get a visa unless you your passport is valid for 6 mos or more. I guess most visa free countries would question that also

 My Visa was issued July 2009, But yes you are so right, I just never thought about the Dec trip, as far as I was concerned I had enough time left on it. WRONG! of course. I should have known Better at my age and travels. I just did not read the exact wording on the 6 moths rule, My fault entirely :o
I deserve all the stick I get over this.

There are many courier services that can expidite you new passport som as soon as 24hrs(costly though) about 5 working days not so expensive and if you can wait 10-14 days its about the same price as an expediated passport from the post office that takes 4-6 weeks. If you are in Miami/D.C./ Newyork etc you can apply by yourself and under some circumstances get one in 24hrs if you have an appointment
