    Hi Everyone,

My fiance and I are getting married soon. We are looking to have our wedding in Dumaguete since most of my family is from here. However, we are already going to be married by the time we get to the Philippines. We are going to get legally married while running a half marathon in Las Vegas, Nevada USA. We are planing to have 2 formal ceremonies and receptions after this. so, we are planning a sort of renewal of vows kind of thing. The first one will be in Santiago, Chile in March 2011 and the next one will be in either an American hotel in Cebu or somewhere in Dumaguete. I would LOVE to have this third celebration in Dumaguete. However, I do not want to compromise on the quality of the wedding.

I won't be able to visit Dumaguete and will be planning everything from California. So, I would appreciate it if people could send me suggestions on the best looking places that offer excellent service. We are looking to have about 150 guests...or so. How much do people spend to have a wedding with this size of people? Also, are there any exceptional wedding planners out there so I don't have to worry about anything?

    Any feedback would be appreciated!

    Thanks!

    Try Antulang Beach Resort

Check Antulang Beach Resort in Zamboanguita, my friend had her wedding there. The place is so fantastic.

Check their website: Antulang Beach Resort in Dumaguete Negros Oriental Philippines

and their wedding packages: Destination Weddings

    Destination Wedding Packages

    Goodluck...

I would recommend a resort much closer (and probably much cheaper)

150 guests might be a bit big for Well Beach Resort, but give it a try.

another option would be Mikes-Beach Resort, we had a DI Meeting at both places and I was there at a few other big celebrations, both absolutely recommended.

Additional as you might not have accommodation enough for that many guests, rent a Van or 2 from DumagueteCars.com with driver for a half day and have them running between Duma and Dauin that delayed guests still can join or the drunk and tired ones can go home without driving forever to Antulang.

Both three mentioned are very reliable and DI-tested (sober, drunk and totally hopeless)

Wedding planner, well on each wedding I was it was basically nice organized until it started and than messed up by the organizer which runs usually a bit bayutish with many papers around and creates big confusion...

catering-services have usually someone who takes care of tents, chairs, food, etc.
Most resorts work together with one or two anyway and might be able to support you.

    hope that helps a bit.

    cheers

    Rhoody

I am a wedding planner now based in Dumaguete City. I never had any events here in Dumaguete since I just moved in here. But it will be a great challenged for me to be able to plan your wedding in this wonderful place. I coordinated and planned weddings mostly in Manila and other places in Luzon. Hope to speak to you.

Santa Monica Beach Resort is a nice place for a wedding reception; however, the rooms are not very elegant but are inexpensive. The resort has two menus to choose from and charges by the number of people.
A very nice resort in Dauin is Atmosphere, pricey but elegant.
