...and you just did! You made a happy joke.

Hey, okey, back to the topic - Why you chose Sibulan over the other cities/towns around? I am just curious. Still a long way to go for me but I was asking myself about the question: "If I were to go back to the PI, where must I locate myself? Back to Sibulan or live in Dumaguete?". Economics wise, I do not know.

But what I noticed is that elementary pupils can not enrol in the city like at the West City Elementary School (where they have a very good record in teaching their elementary students) if you are from Sibulan or outside the city. I mean before it was allowed but I heard that now they are giving priorities for the city residents. Unless if you got a family member who works as a faculty or staff, then they will let you in.

So maybe better to live in the city (Dumaguete) to avail seats at the recognised public schools?

    Tks.
Amiga, I choose this area because it's more peaceful than most other places, and it seems to be a better place to educate my kids. I have made many friends here and I live with my family in Agan-An. I have 2 kids in school. My daughter in ABC and my son in Sibulan high school. I'm not sure, but 2 years ago I tried to enroll My son in Dumaguete, but but he was refused because we are in Sibulan

Oh okey - so it does apply to high school students, too? I believe only for the elementary pupils.
I am from Maslog myself, adjacent to Agan-an...and we were sending our foster-brother to NOHS in Dumaguete for his high school (he is in college now).

So your son was refused for his elementary of high school?

(Where in Agan-an are you in?)

Just reread your post and so your son was refused 2 years ago...so it could be during his elementary years.

And now in Sibulan Municipal High School for personal choice?

Sibulan Central School (elementary) is having a good academic record, though.

We were living north of Cebu City when he was young. we came here in his first year in high School. I sent him to St. Paul's for the first 2 years, That didn't work out so good. so I transferred him to Sibulan high school and Only time will tell.

    warm welcome

Hi and wow thankyou for your welcoming lines to me, was really appreciated.
Im really looking forward to being over there and meeting with you, that was one of my concerns not having anyone to talk to and understand me.Mind you i think with my northern accent that still might be a problem..haha.But will have all the time to sit down and just watch the world go by and hope to make friends there.Yes cant blame anyone for leaving this sinking ship country im glad im not young and trying to get on in life again,is so difficult so my 2 daughters tell me. Just at the moment im waiting to be a grandad for the first time, any day now he is keeping us waiting(its a boy)they said on scan.So i`ll let you know and we can wet the babies head together.have one on me,cheers. All the best for now. Bob.

Seems like a very big move for you, bobbyjo13. Leaving the dear ones behind and the way I read your post you seemed to be a family-orientated man who would miss the kids for sure.

My students at home are not very good at school either but I never force them to study now (they will just get more rebellious, haha). Just told them to remember to try to do the best they can to PASS. Told them, if they pass the school year I would be very happy with that.

Some kids when they leave the classroom after school hours, they even forget they are meant to study even outside the school. Can not force them to aim for level A grades...they just do not have it.

I keep them busy though with extracurricular activities, allowing them to play with the school band to let them feel they are part of the school.

(About Sibulan High...was thinking about it then but I was thinking their social life would be limited having only the market and the church and the seaside near the school...Sorry, but for my kids at home who are growing from the barrio, I believe that in the city would be better.)
