Hi all!! This Thursday, a DI member and her husband (and dogs) are arriving in Dumaguete for their permanent move. I had made arrangements to have a pick up/truck at the airport (they have 4 dogs in cages), and today we found out the guy sold his truck. Have been trying to find another all day, but haven't had any luck. Does anyone here know where we can get one, reasonable....they are living in Sibulan and just need transport from the airport to Sibulan, not far. We did call car rental and it was going to cost at least 2600 php, which we feel is a little steep!! Thanks for any suggestions!!

    a simple drop-off with dumaguetecars.com is not more than 300 - 500.

If they need a transporter for a lot of crap the world looks of course a bit different.

    Truck

Thanks, looks like the only truck they have you have to hire the driver, too. I will give them a call anyway and see what they say.
We don't need a transporter....just something that will accommodate 4 dogs cages and a few suitcases, we can handle the transporting ourselves.
    Thanks!!

They have the same rate with or without driver, but as you need obviously a bigger one than just for passenger transfer, you might end up with 1000 php for a van and 1500 if you need the Chevi.

at the end of the day both is probably not really an issue compared with the general costs of moving.

you can hire a ezy ride, maybe its a little small for 300 pesos with no other additional cost, otherwise a taxi is 500 pesos FIXED rate...can you hire a few of those? two ezy rides should suffice....still cheaper than 2600 pesos!

    truck

Thanks for the help, guys!! Called dumaguetecars and they hooked us up with a pick-up and driver for 1500 php, much cheaper than the other!! Between that and our car we should be able to transport them, their dogs, and luggage in one trip.
