    Hi Everyone,

I'm retired, and considering relocating to Dumaguete. I happened on this forum, so thought it would be a great place to start gathering information on what seems like a great place for a Canadian ex-pat.

    Welcome Jon.

I to am new to this board.

Have you been to the Philippines before? If so, where have you visited?

I can say that in all my travels in the Philippines since 1976, the farther south you go, the nicer it is.

    Hi Barrio,

Never been to the Philippines before... I am engaged to a Pinay gal currently working in Hong Kong, and we are discussing whether to live here in Canada or in the Philippines... she is Ilocano from Pangasinan, and we are thinking maybe Baguio, but we are both pretty adventurous, so anything's possible.

    Thanks Tony,

Dumaguete is definintely on our shopping list. I have been beside the ocean all my life, and it's kind of important to me.

    Cheers,

    John
