thanks for the greatest advice on this forum. i never realized there are expats who does not like any positive comments or praises about the great US. i got a degree for FREE (because i was poor) when i got here--now i am not a drag in the system any more. Free food (stamps), even the illegals get free stuff and assistance. i could go on and on but that just stir the pot to boil. i will not post any more positive comments about the US to make some people happy.
Duma and the US are great places to live it is just a matter of opinion which one a person prefers. again, thanks "atlargex."

i love this , you are funny....this is kind of true about the fee(s) especially if you are a working man taxes here and there fees here and there. thank God no sales tax where i live but prop tax is very very high. for those renters they are not subjected to property taxes which is their advantage.

    ???? Taxes?

 I get a little confused here, are you knocking your own country.
We never, any of us said anything about The Tax Thing, No one Knocked the US. We all praise our own country, Just don't want to live there any more, Like YOU and the PI.

    Negative Thoughts!

:( atlargex, Why do you only come out of Hiding when there is a negative thing to say! Are you an Alta Ego of a somewhat nice member?
    Just a Question, nothing sinister.

    mahalbugas,

Our family were immigrants too in the mid 70's (I was a 10yr old). Though we barely spoke any English, right from the start my parents worked hard (quite frankly, jobs that most blacks or browns wouldn't take), paid our taxes, save for a house and paid education for the kids. To cut a long story short, moving to the US was the best decision my parents made, now you can't get them to leave for a million bucks. I'm currently living & working in China but will eventually move back to US when I'm too old to trot around & if I have enough nest egg to do so. Now US is by no means the best place to live....but taken under consideration of environment, convenience, food, family, and friends I have to say for me it is.

Not sure what's going on with people's mind these days, seems like there are more animosities toward US than countries like North Korea, Iran, or groups like the Taliban. Quite honestly the world's political geography would be quite different today if it weren't for the US, many of you probably be speaking German, Japanese, or Russian now....so a little bit of compliment amongst all the criticisms should be tolerable in some extent, no?

Who's hiding? I have a job & my life does not evolve around DI forum like some people.

The topic of this threat is about what people missed the most from their home country, not which country sucks the worst.

And yes, there are a lot of free things being given away in the US, and quite flagrantly I would add....you have to be blind not to see that.

I miss good Mexican food, properly made cocktails, the lack of poverty, no trash on the streets, orderly flowing traffic, clean, even beautiful restrooms, fast internet and electricity is that clean and reliable.

Oh, and I am from the US...it's not so bad and does get too much flack IMHO.
