Just curious. There seems to be a sizeable expat population in our province. Does anyone have a guestimate of the breakdown of expats here by country?
I know from the restaurants here German-Austria-Swiss are well represented and I see Americans (U.S. and Canadians) on the forum and Scandinavians and Aussies as well.

I read somewhere the figure 6,000 foreigners living in Negros Oriental...that was some time ago that I read that and I can't remember where or what their source was. Seems like Peter at the Immigration office would be in the best position to make an estimate.

I have often joked that there are so many Norwegians here they should call Dumaguete "Little Oslo". Hehehe

Brits are also well represented and of course, Koreans are here in large numbers.

Back in the day they used to have the numbers posted in the immigration office. That was when it was on Perdices. I'd be curious to know how many are here now.

I am wondering how the immigration office would know how many foreigners are living in Negros Oriental. For example, I obtained my visa in Manila and I don't believe there is any tracking of my movement to N.O., except in my case I filed docs here to get married but if I didn't I doubt anyone would know where I reside.

    Makes you Wonder!

 Mine was issued in Madrid Spain First time around so who knows what Information is available. I can't ever remember registering a change of Address. When I lived in Spain we had to report Every 4 years to the Foreigners Office at the National Police Headquarters of the Region and on changing Addresses this had to be Reported to the local police and a new Resident Permit Issued. This I guess would be filtered Back to CNP. GOD Forbid that will start here, more of the Dreaded Paper work to Complete.

    Marriage License! Address.

 Pat, correct me I am wrong please, Did we not have to put an address on the marriage license application form. I guess to support the residence time required for marriage.

Correct Jack, we had to put our address on a few docs, however, as you may know, the marriage license doc goes to the NSO, seriously doubt the immigration office would receive a copy. I am now entering the PI passport process for Crislyn (have to wait 10 days to receive NSO certified copy of marriage license) and will then pursue a U.S. tourist visa for her, both arduous processes. I guess with her name change the immigration office will flag both our locations but maybe not mine.. So California honeymoon will hopefully occur before our one year anniversary. LOL.

I agree to both of you. Visa is indeed a dreaded word, especially if it's a tourist visa. Good luck, Pat. I hope that she'll get hers and if you ever stop by here in San Diego, just let me know. Maybe we could have lunch or something.

Thanks Sheila, I lived in San Diego County (Carlsbad) since 1994 but spent the majority of that time working in Asia and Europe. I plan to take Crislyn to that area as soon as I get her PI passport and tourist visa wrapped up. We will stay living here in God's country.
