Jack, I like McD for breakfast but they fall way short on a good burger!
Does anyone have a recommendation for a good not-too-fatty burger?

    mm Can't remember Now!

 Pat, all jokes apart, we had quite a few laughs some time ago about McD's and there was a lot of suggestions about good Burgers, I get an Idea it was Rhoody who gave some good locations, maybe he will pick up on this and tell you.

    Have a good Afternoon.

Aside from the burgers made by myself and others on backyard BBQs there are NO repeat NO decent burgers in Dumaguete.

The closest is FLAME IT in Cebu. There are several branches there, notably at Ayala Center and SM. These are broiled, not grilled: the only to produce a decent, flavourful burger. Try the bacon, mushroom cheese half pounder.

What McD's doesn't know about burgers is about ALL that there is to know. Apologists for same are likewise mislead!

Hi Pat, Im not their salesman but. the food at Mia's is very good and a good burger.
BTW they open 4pm. If you don't like the music you can eat at the quiet pool side.

Thanks for the tip Ron, will give Mia's a try. Don't know if anyone on the forum ever had an In 'n Out Burger in the U.S. but for fast food delicious. I wasn't aware of Flame Out, will try it next time at Ayala.

Although I haven't found a good burger (will try Mia's for sure), I found the hamburger steak offered on Casblanca's Roast Grill menu to be outstanding tasty beef. I am not affiliated with CB but enjoy their quality. I would love for them to add a charcoal grill in the back and offer some Texas or California style menus occassionally. I know Rhoody would love it so maybe he will use his 'influence' to help implement this suggestion with Guenther.

Well, I like the burger at Mikes Resort a lot, Anabel Jeans burger are pretty decent, I am just not the biggest fan of that place. Burgers in Bogarts are not bad (if the right one prepares it).
Sir Dafitz mentioned my second favorite in Cebu, great taste, I just like TGI Fridays better.

But now you can all declare me for crazy, The best burger in Dumaguete is the DBB (Drunken b@st@rd Burger) Chilli Cheese w/Egg between 3am and 6 am at the boulevard for 32 peso at Burger Delight before falling home (don't try that sober)

I would second Annabelle Jean's as being reasonably good especially for the price...Private Garden was a good bet when Dave was around...in Cebu, I frequented Flame It, but more often Burger Joint in Mabolo. I will have to give Rhoody's P32 DBB a shot...ironically DBB is the symbol for an ETF on which I play a lot of options...

Let me join the club . The best hamburger in Dumaguete has been for me at Private Garden. Even the one I had some weeks ago when Dave was not there was still very tasty.
Annabel also was very tasfull (but for me quite some time ago now),
But when I hear again from someone "there and there they have the best burger in town/the province/the country" then I probably won't go there immediately to check it my self. Why ??
Last week we were on Siquijor and we were dining in a restaurant in Larena of a member of this forum. The food he offered was good, only the brut coffee was, as I also told him, not to my expactations.
He told me that the best Hamburger could be ordered at The Danish Lagoon beach resort.
We went there 2 days later and I got for 300 Php an enormous plate full of salade and I could recognise on top a large piece of bread.
If the bread had also a bottom part was not immediately visible since the salade and meat did cover the whole plate.
Did I like the expensive Hamburger (they called it differently however on their menu card which I can't remember anymore) ?
NO. I will never order such a thing.
The meat was of excellent quality (I believe) and was not from the Philippines acc. to the waitress but from Argentina.
Well, that is very likely true but if the bread and the meat is sumped with an enormeous salade portion which is completely mingled with a disgusting sauce, then I can only taste the sauce and not the possible excellent meat.
Hours later my stomack was still fighting with the sauce.
No, it did not finish all the salad but for 300 Php you try at least to finish the meat and bread and some salad.
The waitress did not need to ask if it was good seeing the all the rest on my plate :D
The best hamburger is there and there !!!!! Where ?
Don't believe me because I also won't believe another anymore :D
