I had a big surprise when I open the mailbox on my front gate the other day and a snake crawled out right over the top of my fingers. We have had run ins with several snakes, including a cobra which had bitten and killed our dog.

So, I've been wondering for the longest time if there is any anti-venom for snakebites available at Dumaguete clinics or hospitals?

    Anybody have any info?

d*mn, did you get bit? How big was the snake? I am worried because my new place, like yours, is closer to the boondocks.

    hello guys,

Try asking in the veterinary of dumaguete. I am speaking about the public veterinary office. I think it is going to the provencial hospital. Sorry I am not so sure please try asking or maybe somebody in this forum know which one I am talking about. If you find that office they should be able to give you an answer about snake anti-venom. I know this is not much help but maybe worth to try. Good day

Let's see, Philippines Cobra's bite can kill you in 30 min., some other venomous snakes kill in 2 hours; we all know how long a trip to Cebu takes. Applying a tourniquet buys critical time so I guess wearing a belt or an alternative for a possible tourniquet is now part of the uniform of the day. My question is : Realizing a cobra here can spit venom 3 meters, what kind of pet can you have here at your home to chase the snakes away? Maybe a pet shotgun!
