I am normally not critical of Dgte eateries so I gave Coco Amigos another chance for lunch today, and not only was the food not to my liking but tonight I have a case of stomach whatever.... I had beef tacos and guacamole salad, maybe it was the lettuce I ate in the salad. I heard it is dangerous to each lettuce at times but I never had a problem at Shakeys or Casablanca. As boxer Roberto Duran stated after getting his butt kicked by Sugar Ray Leonard for the last time, "no mas". I apologize to many of you who enjoy the place, just my personal experience and taste (and stomach).

I think eating at any Philippine eatery is a roll of the dice, some just give better odds! :D

Well, at least you won't be missing out on great food...

Anyone know yet what is brewing at Residencia Al Mar in the old Wakagi location?

the rule is: what's not killing you, makes u stronger, hey.
If however one feels to be on the safe side, just eat things that have been grilled as the fire will kill the bad stuff first.
I ate once or twice in coco amigo; well i dont like the food, but the bar i like and my wife loves the cheese cake there. so we stick to what we like and it is even safe.

Coco A. is my favourite place to sit at the boulevard. It has the biggest space to have a seat and look to the sea.
No cars just in front of your table (but more aside), a reasonable cold beer which is very nice priced during 'happy hour' time and it is the place where I like certain food the most.
The chicken enchilladas and the Chili Concarne are my favourites at THAT place.
Sure ....some will not agree with me about the food there and that's OK with me, otherwise they will run out of stock soon

I liked the food there.....but when I sat there for over an hour and could not even get a beer. I had to leave.

Mab'y it's time to try again.

I have to admit, My favorite breakfast in Dumaguete happens to be the South of the Border Omelette served at CoCo Amigos. It may be a little pricey for some {I think around p200 or so with coffee} but to Me it beats the hell out of hangin' out in Mac Donalds, and the atmosphere is much more peaceful coupled with both the Sunrise and the Lovely Cheryl as Your Waitress....Cheers...

... must be the monster house rat and the "secret ingredients" crawling around there which makes the special flavor which is preferred by some, but causing problems to others.
Each time I have the intention to eat something there i have a quick look into the kitchen, and well, 2 coke light will do...

sitting outside, let the world pass by is for sure something which can be considered quality time as long you can deal with massive dehydration due to hiding waitresses

That problem might not occur to the "regulars" which are uses to yell staff-names for the next order...

Rhoody, You hit that nail right on the head! I couldn't agree more.
That secret sauce seems to be in most of the food and the service of hiding staff seems to be part of their job description.
