    blankets, pillows

Not sure what was going on when you were there, but we always have stayed in one of the family rooms, with two large beds, WITH blankets and 2 pillows on each bed. We have never had a bad experience.

December, be prepare to pay extra 20%. I paid 20% more than the normal rate days before Silliman's founders day. They told me it is prime season. I rate this hotel as 0.5 star.

Stayed in Nikanor several times, family room is huge, two double beds and a fridge, about P1,600. Restaurant is there, have not tried it. Internet was ok, off some times. Very Quiet. Good Drinking Water available on each floor. Nice Bathrooms.

Thanks so much! I appreciate all the feedback. I called Hotel Nicanor and they told me they would give me a 10% discount if we stay for a month, regardless of the season. I'll be sure to tell them to put it in writing. I've stayed at Bethel a million times, and it was always the same: you leave the key at the reception before going out, and when the staff changes shift and they've never seen you before, you can tell them any room number and they'll still give you the key without asking for ID. So I just never turn my key in  Kept it with me the whole vacay.
I do like how Hotel Nicanor has wired internet without extra charge. We'll be there for a month, but we still have to stay connected to work (ugh!). It'll be a busy season here in Dubai as well.

By the way, how about car rentals? Haven't been back since 2007 so I don't know if there are any good ones, and if the prices are any good. Can't imagine bringing my infant son around on a motorcycle!

well, for a month you should get 25%. 10 % is the rate you get for 2 nights. Sadly the last few month the Internet in Nicanor was mainly not existing thanks to Globe. But still the best Hotel Downtown.

Anyway, Internet and Power is a Gamble in whole Dumaguete at present. You might also contact Florentina Homes. for a month, they give more discuont than what is stated on their site. And you have fridge and stove etc. Beautiful small apartment complex.

Thanks, Rhoody. The whole internet and power thing is definitely a concern. I hope by now all the hotels own generators. I'll definitely check out Florentina Homes and the car rental links.

I don't know if you recall, but we met at Hayahay back in August 2007 during one of the Dgte Info meetings. Hope there will be another one in Dec/Jan

    sure I remember : http://www.dumagueteinfo.com/board/photo-board/dumaguete-info-hayahay-1224.html

... between owning and turning them on are sometimes long sweaty hours, some are just to cover the basic power supply.

Some Hotels will charge up to 30% more of their regular rates during x-mas season. Make sure you get the exact room-rate, not just a 10% discount offered if the high season-rate is a third higher

Ew! I looked gross 3 years ago! Well, not much improvement now, hehe. But if any of you guys are on Facebook, hit me up at caymimi@yahoo.com. Just include a note that you're from Dgte Info cuz I tend to ignore invites from people I don't know and who don't remind me who they are!

Ok Rhoody, I'll keep it in mind about the rates. Thanks again!
