⌛ Though about time I joined in

Hi all. I have been keeping an eye on this forum for some time and thought it about time to join in.

I married in the Philippines in 1974 and lived for a few years in Dumaguete, unfortunately was stransferred back to Australia.

My wife and myself will be arriving in Dumaguete, on the 13th Nov.and hope to catch up with and pick the brains of any one willing to have a cold one and a chat.

When I was in Dumaguete there were hardly any expats, but looks like quite a few now, any Australians there, would be interested in getting any info. re retiring in Dumaguete etc.

Hi Devil, i'm not an Australian but i know the price of SMB.
1 case at bodegaprice is 392 pesos and just in case(?), a case of coke liter is 236 pesos.

not Australian also... just jealous of firefly. His SMB is 1.7 peso per bottle cheaper than mine... no wonder that I am broke :(

Two Aussies? Great - I'll guess they'll have to close the town down now.

I'll be back in Gods chosen land when you arrive but hopefully back in the New year.

I tend to inhabit Duma,Brisbane and Perth but the old mans in Adelaide so I sometimes look in. I miss the gentility. :D and sometimes I miss the electricity.

Enjoy your stay TD....I'm from Darwin and make frequent trips a year to Dumaguete as it is cheaper than going to the other states in Australia! My family gets "pissed" becasue I never visit them...its half the price to get to the Phils from where I am.....

There are a few Aussies lurking around, about a further 10 I know of like you who have not joined DI.

As for retirement, I will see you there!

Let me know dates you plan to travel and we can meet up sometime providing dates are suitable.

Thanks for the info.

We will be travelling to Manila on the 5th Nov, then departing for Duma on the 11th Nov, going by ferry.

Will stay at the Nicanor Hotel while looking for a place to rent.

Lived in Darwin for a couple of years, not a bad place except for the wet.
