I am looking for a young 2nd hand Kawasaki off the road bike, model KLX150S.
The only condition, before I decide to buy one, is the possibility to make a test drive. If 2nd hand is not available a brand new will do as well as long as a test drive can be made. Any member(s) on this forum who own a bike like this would be great to hear his opinion and does and donts either as reply to this post or by sending me a PM.

Welcome RR Biker. I bet you'll find a used Kaw here in no time.
But I got to ask, your request to have to test ride even a new bike is kind of unusual. Whats the reason for that?
If you're looking to get a big Kaw, PM me and I can help you out.
I know d' dude to talk to.

To buy a bike without a test drive, is taking a very high risk. Just sitting on it in the showroom says nothing about handling and most of all the feeling you've got to have with a bike which you can only experience while driving. Once in my life did buy a bike without a test drive and believe me still regret it I did, what a big mistake. I am aware that in the PH is almost impossible to find a dealer who has a showmodel that's available for that purpose which however is rather usual for instance in many European countries. Suppose as well as in the USA. I am not looking for a big Kaw, that 150cc machine is enough for me to have little fun.

i don't know a single shop in the philippines that allows test drives of new bikes. I wish you the best in finding one.

When you buy a bike they put the battery in, oil, etc to even start it the first time.

I am aware, it's unrealistic to expect that a dealer will grant a test drive on a brand new bike. However, having a showmodel for that purpose, would considerably boost the turnover or sales of specific models (my opinion). I am not a motorbike dealer, obviously their opinion differs from mine (so perhaps it's easy talking for me of course).

even when I've sold a used bike I've found tons of tire kickers that just want to drive/race some great bikes. Some show up, no cash, no drivers license and no insurance and I'm to let them go "play" with my expensive bike at the hope they might buy it in the future.

    Not a chance! :-(

I'll have a used Yamaha Tmax for sale soon and for people to drive it, they can deposit the purchase price with me and take it for a ride. If they lay it down, crash or destroy it....it's been bought and paid for.

It makes sense and is of course out of the question to have a person without a driver's license make a test drive. If the motorcycle is not covered by a comprehensive insurance than better keep it in the garage and dont join traffic. In my home country you simply sign an agreement and show 2 id's (driver's licence and additional one) before a dealer allow you to start to make a test drive. But TIP (This is Philipines).

If someone came to me and said they needed to test drive a 150cc bike, somehow I might could possibly come to the conclusion that I wasn't dealing with an overly experienced motorcyclist.
May I suggest perhaps you might want to ask other questions about the scooter, like fuel consumption, the light weight and parts availability...
And just mention a test ride, as an afterthought, at the end.
