    Marriage.....
BBC news today reports the killing of a British Man who threw a engagement party for the family of the Filipina he met on the internet Apparently she forgot to mention the jealous boyfriend who arrived and stabbed them both in front of the guests.
Police are now looking for the guy who has absconded......just a thought.

    Taking Issue with Mich10 comment

Mich10, I question if your advice is a help or a hinderance to others? One of the many advantages of this forum is to share experiences we have here which may help, assist, or at least inform others, particularly foreigners who have little or no understanding or the some of the key processes like marriage here. Readers can take it or leave it but in some cases it is a good idea to at least consider what is shared: There is not substitute for experience.

    Alternative

I got the little lady to australia on a tourist visa and married her there - The paperwork in the Philippines is just too daunting. - if form C goes in front of form B etc etc -and no doubt to solve the problem somebody will want their palm greased.

There is an island in Thailand that requires 5 days notice also -an Indian friend of mine got married there.

No doubt my wife will have to do the Catholic marriage guidance thing on the dangers of foreigners when she leaves next time but the intention was only to avoid the horrific paperwork.

Hi, I do not think this will help you guy,s but things have changed a hell of a lot since I married over there, all I had to do was get a certificate of no impedance from the Australian Embassy, then post the bans and organises the wedding, basically no paperwork also no marraige guidance. Was all pretty simple back then.
Anyway best of luck for the future, if you have the right girl, you will have a very happy life.

    Marriage & Passports!

 Over the past few Weeks there have been so many similar Questions. The posts in reply are fairly new and are up to date in current procedures. They are not hearsay or speculation, a little time searching the latest posts will tell all. The simple answer is Go to the relevant Department armed with ALL the requirements and it will not be too painful. I think all of us who have had to go through these procedures have given as much news, advice and the pitfalls, that anyone could ever give.

I hope, whoever needs advice and or help will just read the posts first then ask if not clear. The current information is all there. Good luck to you all, just be patient and it will be OK on the day.
