I have been on SkyCable TV and internet for 4 years, here and in Makati. I was shocked to find out when I paid my bill today they do not provide service south past SPI; I am moving to Bacong next month so tried to prepare the transfer.
Friends tell me the options (only?) are Filproducts for cable and Globe for internet. I will be located 1/2 k south of the town center and 1/2k west up the hill from south highway, sorta last house on the road. I am concerned the 'up the hill' may not have service. Went by Globe today and too big of a crowd so thought I would try my fellow DI's. My barangay will be Lutow. Any knowledgeable folks on this one? Salamat.

I think it has been established on another thread recently that FilProducts does not yet offer cable internet, only that they plan to offer it soon.

Regarding Globe: You will still need to inquire with them to see if they can offer internet at your specific location. I have found that even if all your neighbors surrounding you have Globe internet, they still may not have "ports" available in your area. Back when I first set mine up, I got the "no ports available in that area" for most of the locations I presented them with.

If Globe is a no-go, you still have the option of wireless internet such as Smart Bro. For that you will need an unobstructed line-of-sight to a Smart tower. You can inquire at the Smart Wireless store in Robinson's for Smart Bro.

DG, I believe the former threads regarding Filproducts was in reference to Valencia, not Bacong. They do in fact have services in parts of Bacong, same for Globe. My concern is my location. I wll go to both Filproducts and Globe today and find out if they service my exact area. Thanks

    Stay away from Smart Bro!!!!

That is unless you love being rip-off. They ripped me off for 999 PHP and all I ever got for it was a sh*t load hassles, nothing more or less. They have about 998 PHP worth of bad mouth advertising coming from me. I figured I would forgive them 1 peso for every opportunity to bad mouth them. At that rate I will be long dead before I see any return on my 999 PHP.

By accident I looked this week to cable TV at Filproducts channel.
They indeed mentioned regarding internet: "coming soon".
I did not read or hear however what they understand under 'SOON'.
Learned my lesson since some years here now.
It very probably means: so please wait for us and don't make another decission
I heard and read stories about Globe and Smart which were SO promising.
Going and ask at their office you learn most often that that message was only for a specific area or such like other 'excuse'.
But it SHOULD have been nice if Filproducts would use their cable for internet as well.
Heard that some years ago: "We are working on it".
"Working on it" has become for me meanwhile similar to "coming soon".
Yes on that I have been 'adapted' :D......:mad::mad:

We had sky cable t.v. and internet in Bacong. The cable t.v. was good. The internet?
    Consistent, but slow.

KdF, Sky Cable only goes south one block past where SPI is, not far enough for me. Filproducts does Bacong proper but I need to find out if I am within 1/2 kilometer of the nearest box, will survey today. There are two boxes but I believe I am at least a kilometer from them and out of luck. If so, will have a look at satelite. For internet, Globe, for internet, will survey and see if I am close enough for their service as well. Again, probably a little too far. They just ran electricity up to my place now. So a local internet cafe may have to work. I never thought I would have a problem as a friend lives on the hiway a block from my turnoff and has Filproducts and Globe.
