 Are there any Members arriving before Xmas that can help me? I require a tin of "BRASSO" wadding. I just can't find any anywhere, I have a feeling it is a British thing, I have a lot of alternatives BUT I do require this particular product for a Job I am to do in January. I have some on order but have been told that it may be Feb or even March before I get it. I need just 1 tin, so if anyone is or has friends or family coming soon, PLEASE, ask if they can bring me a tin, PM me if it can be arranged and Dinner is on me!

Jack, I had hoped to be there for Christmas but its taken longer than I thought to sell my house. However, the sale is going through now, but I may be cutting it a bit fine to get there in time. However, if that is the case, I will aim to get there by early January. But qualify what it is exactly that you want. I was not aware that Brasso did wadding. I thought that the only wadding was done by Duraglit. So is it liquid Brasso or Duraglit wadding that you need. If I can get flights in time I will endeavor to bring whichever you need.

Jack, if anyone is coming from the U.S., it is a popular item and easily found there. When I was an MP, used it daily to shine all the brass buckles and emblems, etc. I know you use it for your work so hope you find it. My son is coming in February and can bring some but I hope you get it sooner.

Jack, in the US it is sold at every boat store and every Home Depot also. I used it all of the time when there.
    Good luck.

Ok, seems like Brasso do make wadding as well. I'll look around for some and bring it with me if I can get there in time. For all my military brightwork, I used liquid Brasso, a yellow duster and a button stick !!!

Jack, you may know this, and I know it's not what you are looking for, Handyman has some Wright's Brass Polish, liquid, in stock.

    Thank You All!

 Thank's all of you, I have the usual things for everyday use but it is this one particular item that I need. The liquid will be too hash for the job as it is an antique plaque I will work on. I have been researching every where about the wadding and it seems the safest thing to use. Wright's, Goddard's, Duraglit and Templeton's are all good but Brasso is the original, the consistency and the ingredients of the wadding are, I am informed, the thing for this delicate job. Again, Thank You all for any help that maybe forthcoming.

    We live and Learn!

:o Pat and Ron, Thanks for your responses, you have opened my eyes here, I would never have thought that Brasso was available in the States. Being a Brit I guess I just assumed it was a British thing. Now! I wonder why it is not available in PI, Mind you, there is not that much brass here, that people like to keep the looks good. Pity as it is such a Beautiful sight to see Bells, Plaques, Goblets and Church Organ Stops looking like they should. If a member here is or was a Submariner I am sure they will remember the older Subs and the brass work around the Boat.
Have a good Day you all.

    Brasso Wadding in Aus.

Jack, fyi, this site shows Brasso Wadding you can order in Australia. Maybe one of the forum members living there or traveling home soon can get you some, it you choose that option.
