I had a dream last night. I went back to California (been 4 years next month since I was there). I still had my old house and my grill. I went to Tip Tops Meats and European Delicatessen. I had to decide if I wanted to barbq a big rib eye steak, a fillet mignon, or a porterhouse. I knew I could get a rib eye or tenderloin in Dgte so I had them cut me a thick 20 ounce porterhouse. A porterhouse is 2 in 1; it has a large New York Strip steak on one side and a fillet on the smaller side, a big fat bone in between, and a little fat around the borders you can trim off after cooking, it is my favorite. This one was about an inch and a half thick, just the way I like it and will cook it medium rare. Next door at the little farmers market I bought some red and yellow peppers, some zuchinni, some mushrooms, and big potatoe, all for the barbq. On the way home I went by my favorite wine store, La Costa Wine Co. and bought a bottle of '96 Caymus cabernet (the reserve as usual was too expensive) and a Chalk Hill chardonnay for while I am barbecueing. I got home, marinated the beef, sliced the veggies, prepared the potatoe, opened and decantered the cab, and chilled the chardonnay. I turned on ESPN sports on my big screen, started watching, then fell asleep. I had another dream. I was living on a remote tropical island, married to a beautiful young girl, happily retired, and building a home. I was awakened from both dreams by someone licking my face and nibbling on my ear. It was my minpin puppy waking me up at 4am to go pee. I got up, smiling, thinking it was one hell of a dream(s) and thanking God I am alive and living this good life.. Don’t need the porterhouse but sure could use the cabernet and chardonnay.
No need to take things to seriously

I hear you, Bro. While things are almost never perfect in life, I'm happier than I've been since I was a kid.
