Hello. Nice to meet you all.
My name is Joshua Kim from Korea.
I'm planning to go Dumaguete Jan. of 2011 with my family.
I visited Tacloban Philippines once around 3 years ago and this is my second time to visit your place.
I don't know much about Dumaguete because Dumguete is not a popular place for Koreans but I found out that it is very nice place to stay and is called "city of education" so I decied to go there as soon as I realized those things but I have one problem.
That is I haven't found any place to stay right for us.
We'll stay there around a month... please recommend appropriate place for me in fact us.
I've already contacted some but situations are negative.
All booked. Too expensive. No homepage/e-mail...ect...
I want to rent a room for 4 of us near or close to Silliman univ then we could use its cafeteria for the palce to eat.
Acutally, one acquaintance is helping us to find a right place but we need you to help us.

Hi Joshua, and welcome to the board. Just to let you know, theres another Joshua Kim from Korea here in Dumaguete. He's the tae kwon do master in town.
By the way, do you know about the growing Korean community in Valencia, up the hill from Dumaguete? They have some kind of really big cultural center they opened right outside of the town. It looks really nice.

 

Oh. it's very interesting. The person who has the same name with me in there already.
I haven't heard about Korean Community there. Wow.. I want to see that cultural center soon. It's D-27. I hope to see you all. Thanks.

If you look for budget-accomodation in Dumaguete you may have a hard time to find a website or e-mail address for it.
You may look for The World View Pension Plaza on Perdices street near Siliman or Vintage Inn near the central market.
