comparing Florentina and Southsea for a young family .... definitely Florentina, very child-friendly and safe and clean.

I agree with you... Southsea seem not so properly maintain anymore unlike before, besides Florentina is way accessible to any public transport than Southsea...

Friends of ours just stayed at the Hotel Nicanor and said it was very nice; however, there is NO POOL. Prices are very good and within your budget, and it is located right in town (very short walk to Lee Plaza). Link below shows prices and photos, etc.

Thanks for all the info - I guess my wife checked out Florentina but they don't have rooms available. Looks like we will be staying at the Bravo Hotel.

Anyone have any thoughts on the Bravo? Looks like they have a pool and playground which will be good.

We will be traveling most days to Valencia, I can take the back road and avoid driving through the city.

We are taking a side trip to Dakak Resort by Dapitan. Some people have told me to stay clear of Mindanao but I am hoping that is a big generalization as I am sure some areas are better than others.

    Regards

    Staying safe

Planning to visit Davao, Mindanao during February before a quick visit to Dumaguete/Siquijor.
Like most places there are do's and dont's, Mindanao is OK, just take family advice as to where to visit or not enjoy.......JB
