The Rifle's a walking stick, or is the walking stick a rifle ?

I don't know who is training the Philippine Police or the Philippine Army in weapons use but the there seems to be little or no respect for their weapons/ rifles.

I am seeing more frequently soldiers or police leaning on their rifles with the rifle tip (barrel end) stuck in the dirt.

As an "old" Army man from way back, if my Sargent saw me doing that, I would be talking with a squeaky voice.

I have pointed this out several times to soldiers, police officers and received respectful responses, and the barrel end is taken off the dirt.

The answer is, THEY are training them! I have seen this many times over the years, so nothing is changed.

I would bet a couple of pesos that those doing that don't have any rounds in their magazines, maybe never had. I bet they never gave their rifle a name, never slept with it, and for d*mn sure never used it and probably never cleaned it. Guess they think it is their gun not their rifle, lol

If one of my Sgt's saw it - I'd probably wake up from unconsciousness....back in the old Corps. They probably counsel them now...and show them a Youtube instructional video...and clean it for them....

That's a confirmation that the Philippines is not a police state.
As an expatriate here, that makes me feel more secure.

Hey Manzanita, have you been following any of the stories about Hubert Webb and the other 6 prisoners. They spent 15 yrs in jail for a crime they did not do. Hubert Webb was even in the US at the time, according to his passport and documents from the US government.

    Should I mention the Morong 43 ?

Where does the Philippine stand with its human rights record, ?

Sorry this is a "touchy" subject

What's your touchy subject Sid? What are you talking about??:confused::confused:

The "Hubert Webb" case was referred to as the Visconde massacre here back when it happened, what does that have to do with Sad Sack and his dirty flash suppressor?
