Is anyone using Smart Bro Broadband in a remote area where Sky Cable or Globe is not available? I will need that service in my part of Bacong. If so, what kind of speed can I expect, about like a dial up connection? Thank

I have a friend in Bacong who says speed is intermittent. He could download a full 700mb movie overnight though.

Smart Bro is available if you can "see" a transmission post.
For Bacong Lutao this can not be a problem but the wireless transmission post of Globe is nearer.
Speed of wireless Smart and Globe is about the same.

    Slow

I have Smart Bro in Balugo,Sibulan, speed varies between 4kbs to 7kbs but thats early in the morning, between 4AM and 7AM, after that it is useless and on weekends forget it,, must be all the kids chatting and playing games which takes a lot of band width.. try to open a picture +- 1mb gives enough time to head for the toilet and make a coffee with time to spare. hehehehhe

FF, I wish I could get Globe, I am too far from their post. I would have to put up at least one post between their post and my lot. I have asked Globe to put up a post nearer to my house.

Pat, you are talking about a Globe internet cable connection , but Globe has also wireless, this might be a temporary solution.

We are using Globe about 2 km up the hill above Valencia. I guess it is wireless, as there is
no cable connection, only an antenna sitting on top of a 20 ft tall pipe. When it works, it's actually quite satisfactory, but there are occasions when it is totally dead. We tried Smart Bro up here and it was worthless. Suggest you find someone with a laptop and one of the various suppliers and invite him to check out signal strength where you are going to need it.

    Pat O,
We tried Smart Bro Broadband here in Valencia. They told us it would work just fine. Fact is it did NOT work at all. It NEVER worked and we were never able to even log on the internet. We returned their equipment and we never got a refund of the 999 PHPs. In fact they continue charging us the monthly and now are demanding thousands of PHPs for the service we never got. We so far have only paid 999 PHPs for a lesson that has taught us never to deal with Smart Bro again. I sure hope you do better then us if you should be so brave as to give them any of your money. We are not the only ones, a friend just arrived from down under living in Bacong just got burned by them last month. I wish you luck in any dealings you have with those Smart Bro, crooks! I hope you do not become their next VICTIM!
