I've read one benefit US military retirees have is being able to receive mail in foreign countries using APO address. I'm wondering how well that works, and if you're charged extra to get it from the APO in Manila to say Dumaguete?
That only works if you are going to be close enough to the FPO to pick your mail up regularly and currently there is only a handfull of locations in the Manila area. I don't know of any APO or FPO that performs a forwarding service.
That would have been my second question...getting it from the APO to you off on another island for example.
