Are you children being brain washed....if so, by whom?????

Also, please tell me what they try to brainwash the kids into and the purpose?

I need to know so I can take the precautions needed to make sure that my children are not being brain washed.

World open kids often are rutten spoiled and don't care about families and society. The reason is that the parents do not have the time for the kids and more important is money and materialism. In todays world a protected childhood is favorable to the kids and information about behavior and education should be handled by the parents. Looking forward to your response.

    Cheers,

    Ron

Some things are best unsaid, but forgive me, but you don't know the true meaning of Christianity, follower's of Christ. (nothing to do with Church)
And I cannot understand "church only encourages to steal" again as Rhoody said this all far from the Thread "Do we stay or do we go"
So peace on Earth to Men of good will, regards....JB

    What I do:

Internet, business and fun stuff including staying in touch with friends around the world

Reading (business and fun stuff also)

Hanging out with friends, wife, family etc.

Going to the beach to go swimming and shell collecting

    Travel and sightseeing

    T.V.

    Shopping

Go to see a movie and/or eat out

Plus minor stuff that is done every day

I've found that when I am bored, it is I who is the boring one. There is plenty to see and do no matter what one's budget is if one is excited about living life and learning new things. I've also found that the ones that are the easiest bored are the ones who are used to being entertained by someone else or something else.

I've found I am happiest when I have goals that I am excited about and work towards attaining those goals. They day I retire is the day I die! There are too many things I want to do! :D

well, you better look at several schools here with the "we are xxx-ians and better than the rest" attitude and the results of that seen in the attitude of thousands of adult people in Dumaguete.
Look at the teaching materials how kids got fed with simply wrong information about how wonderful, perfect and great things are running with many "adjusted" statements about the reality is simply a shame.
Due to Dumaguetes size and provincial limitations kids have not much chance to get out of that and they are 12 hours out of the house plus assignments. So the influence parents can take are pretty limited.

Another ridiculous example. My boy was almost not allowed to take a exam because his hair is too long. (see picture below of that long hair) He needed to go out and cut his hair while the other kids started the exam already.

Don't know where you come from, but in my education world open means accepting, respecting and experiencing different cultures and opinions, which does not mean we need to like all of them.

    cheers

only 3 reasons (3 BBBees) to stay here:

Booze - cheap compared to other countries but......i dont drink that much
Beaches - great nature but once explored can also be found in other parts of asia
Babes - if you are single, THE reason to stay here

well, lets be honest, its sooo easy to talk to people here and i enjoy that most
but if that weighs up to the lesser quality of life compared to thailand??

so, im gonna do some heavy touring for half a year and return to the kingdom with my pinay and have the best of both worlds

I also have a problem with these religious schools. I am an atheist and detest religion in general. I would love for my daughter to go to a school that does not subject her to religion but it has been a challenge. She goes to ABC now and will be moving over to Holy Cross next year. She is 3. I am looking foward down the road to the proposed school in Dauin that will be non-sectarian. Until then we have to accept the limitations here and throughout the Philippines as to non-religious school opportunities.

    Rhoody,

You have mentioned false pride displayed by the locals several times. I wonder if that is a defense mechanism, specially when they interact with expats.

Another possibility s most people's lack of exposure, they haven't been anywhere , this is all they know.

    Just wondering .

There is without question many episodes of Racism against foreigners in Dumaguete. We are easy targets combined with other elements that cause this to occur. Know your rights and your Philippine laws so you can fight back against this nonsense before one day something really bad happens and someone ends up hurt.

It's interesting when you invite a Filipino family for dinner and they bring doggie bags.

As for coming and going Humm. I lived in beach cities for the most part of my younger years. then the high desert for 18 years, then the mountains in a cabin for 12 years then Thailand for 6 years and now I live back on the beach on an island...for how long? who knows... I do like Vietnam.
