My chatmate from Candoni is quoting me some wild prices to get to Siaton, like 1100 pesos!! She said to take the road from Candoni to Sipalay will cost 500 pesos and then from Sipalay to Siaton will be another 500 pesos, and a trike from Siaton to the resort will be 100 pesos. Seems odd to me, considering my roundtrip flight from cebu-dumuagete only cost 1100 pesos.

Hi...Blaze_Pontaine ! Hope you arrived will and safe.

Candoni if you care to see in the map is so close to Dumaguete. The price that your chatmate quoted to you is a rift off to put it honestly. That town maybe in the middle of nowhere but not from the civilization. She can even take a ride from the truck that bring sugarcane to the mill for free.
I went to that town when i was there in the pinas to visit a family. A comfortable ride in and out of that area to your place of meeting will way below her pricing.

This forum helps alot to those that help themselve.

Transportation from a mountain area to the highway (more public transportation like Ceresliner) is mostly done by Habal-Habal motorcycle and cost 50 pesos for a private trip and lesser than that if sharing with others (locals always do).
No Philippino will pay 500 pesos.
For most foreigners with some experience hear "a bell is ringing" if they see a price of 500pesos.

I hope you have arrived safely. The best thing to do in that situation is to take a pedicab or a tryke from the airport. Just tell the driver to take you to the "terminal" going to Siaton, or Zamboanguita, or guihulngan or wherever. If you make Dumaguete Airport as your starting point, then all you need to do is to get a pedicab/tryke or maybe taxi to take you to the "terminal" going to your place of destination. When you use the word "terminal" or "bus terminal" like "terminal for Siaton" or "terminal for Tanjay" etc. all drivers should know where to take you.

If you don't have to much luggage, the best you can do is walking 200 m to the highway and take a Ceresliner to their terminal (go left on the highway)
There is a (yellow) Ceresliner passing every 5 minutes (from Bacolod,Guihulngan,Manjuyod, San Carlos,Mabinay,Bais etc) and they all go to the terminal, will cost 10 pesos
