Because have just rent an unfurnished house had to buy furniture recently ( december/ januar)
Bought sofa (16000) at LEE PLAZA .. to make a long story short : disastrous delivery under the usual chaotic circumstances that we all know so well here, in an old open van ( delivery costs 325 P ) that had survived the Second World War.

Bought refrig, bedframe and dining table and chairs.. at APPLIANCE CENTER: same story as above and every item damaged. They wanted me to sign for receiving the goods in good order at the shop :smile:the goods still being in the shop  upon which i asked them if they had gone " boang " ( crazy). Delivery costs 175.

good exception : CANG ...several big items .. very decently delivered in a good closed van and in time .

    Hi Harald!

 Yeahhh! But don't you just love this sleepy hollow called Dumaguete:p

This is what makes it so special. I always get the job of traveling on the delivery van to make sure all goes well.

Thats a good idea indeed to travel with it , although the practical implementation seems to me not that easy.

If i love this sleepy hollow ? mm .. there are plusses and minusses. I think for this forum the minus things are more interesting because we can maybe learn from it to make things better or whatever. good news is no news
That i have a beautiful gorgeous sweet lady here is < i think > les interesting for the people here :p

Hey guys, the delivery catastrophy so vividly described above is not a thing unique to Duma: some years ago the wife and I bought a new sala set for the in-laws who live in Negros Occ. (Victorias/Canetown). Same same. Sala set made in Cadiz, delivered on open truck (luckily it wasn't raining and the upholstery still covered by plastic), but the wooden frame of some parts looked like sh..t. Here too request to sign for A OK delivery which was gracefully denied (stronger terminology came later), and some parts that were too damaged were returned and at the same time payment for these items was withheld. Took two more trips to satisfy that idiot foreigner with his big mouth, but we finally got what we wanted. Simply don't take no for an answer, that's my motto.

wouldn't look for an second hand stuff here as the new stuff looks like second-third hand in real countries.
you get a bamboo bed double for 1.200 peso, a set bamboo 2 chairs, double seater and small table from 1500.
Office table 3k, half way proper chair 5k
