Thanks for the clarification. But then that seems odd that they (SM) haven't done anything with it to generate revenue.

SM has not yet publicized any lot where they would construct their mall...all those lots are just being explored, and all those insinuations for a lot where SM would construct its mall are just rumors. I think no deal has been reached for any landowner(s) yet. We can only know there's already a land for an SM mall when we see the "SM" logo in one of the huge fenced areas in or near the city soon...

Time to think outside the BOX!

I would like to see the politicians work hard to bring in manufacturing plants, help creative entreprenaurs with loans, educate people to be good craftsmen, start building affordable subdivisions and clean up down town once for all. Get rid of all the SOOT destroying all the buildings, and have a tough special police force to stop all the polluters, so we can have a cleaner city. SM Mall, who cares, we really don't need that, it has a very low priority.
Look at Robinson's...many empty stores still and mostly window shoppers and kids who have nothing else to do. People employed in the malls are often short term, with no benefits and minimum wage pay. Who makes the money? The big boys of course and the money does not stay in this country. As I read the other day, the last Constitution is benefitting the rich only. What a shame. People need good healthy food, a nice place to live, a place to stay clean and a job with benefits. We all have dreams, and that includes the Filipino people. I would like to see the rich people share instead of spending on meaningless malls. Wake up Negros Oriental, you can do MUCH better! Corruption is easy to fix..... Life Sentence Period!

People need jobs and a future to beleive in... not only survival for our growing generation and the next!

    Happy Sunday,
    Ron

The time has come to contemplate a visit there perhaps. I cannot express how much I am looking forward to meeting up with friends and Family there.

There seems to be no competition between SM and Robinsons here as they are opening Watsons at Robinsons Dumaguete (at the area supposed to be occupied by McDonald's, slated to open April-May this year). Watsons in the Philippines is being franchised by SM, and that is an anchor store in all SM malls. Earlier, they also opened BDO at the alfresco area of Robinsons....

I would not be surprised if SM Savemore opens at the Dumaguete Public Market soon, as that is the trend of SM now to open in public markets, as its contribution to the government's public-private partnership scheme.

wow! amazing prediction.... anyways, it would be better if Dumaguete will be much alike to Subic... clean, well behave people and lots of jobs. Hard to find jobs here but that's not an issue 'coz its nice to live here still a less polluted city.

    Age and Height Discrimination

:DGot a laugh reading the soon to be open Watson's job opening posting at their mall site. It states for most of the positions you must be under age 35 and for some at least 5'2" tall. Guess my wife and I can't get a job there. lol

Bank of Philippines Island? If so, I know there are at least two.
