my vote is definatly LE CHalet as no 1
best steaks in town bar none
Everything is great as long as you avoid the chicken dishes on the regular menu
also sausages are go0d as is the deli
even the Pizza is the best in town now carmines has died.
Persian palet again has dodgy chicken in my opinion
It is also Iranian owned so another reason not to go
I always get stairs from the iranians and Pakistanis in there like i am not welcome in "their" restaurant

the humus is good along with the spinach chicken curry if you can stand the ropey chocken
the chicken masala and all other curries I tired were sweet and rank

McDonalds Quarter Pounder with cheese and mustard is the best cheeseburger in town. Of course you have to request the cheese be placed on top the burger, one piece is enough.

The seating arrangement is cramped at the Boston Market.

I like the baby coconut seafood soup at the place end of the Blvd, begins with H.

The American breakfast at Why Not is pretty good.

I gave up on Cocos long ago.

Why is there no mention of Casablanca. When it first opened on the boulevard it was excellent, OK, it had a couple of problems for a few weeks but I can understand that. These problems now seem to be largely remedied and it's knocking out excellent food daily. I do miss the Sunday breakfasts but I never thought they'd stand the test of time.
Your views are welcome on this so please let me know what I'm missing here. Thanks

Casa Blanca always excellent and best service. Le Chalet next but servers have no training for charging more than other restaurants, the chef is wonderful. Mia's is nice home cooking but not till after 4pm.

My Current Top 3 Restaurants In Dumaguete

Judged by quality, value for money spent, cleanliness, and service.

    1. KRI - While they don't have a vast selection of dishes to offer, I can seriously say they have the best Burger in Dumaguete (Private Garden used to have a great burger IMO as well) . Their other sandwiches that I have tried (Turkey on Ciabatta, Pulled Pork, Kri Sliders... especially the Bleu Cheese n' Bacon one) are also above average for Dgte. standards (the Kri sliders are really good, like their burger). As for pricing, I think they offer the most for what you can get in the city. The place is also clean and service is okay. Though the owner is very accommodating and entertains your suggestions and listens to your opinions. They also have a suggestion box so you can share your complaints or suggestions even if he's not around. So overall, currently my top pick.

    2. Mooon Cafe - First off, I'd like to say they have best priced and tasting LOCAL Steak in Dumaguete ( i think it's at php280 and while Why Not's LOCAL steak is also good, it's a bit too saucy for my taste). Their other dishes like the Baby back Ribs, Beef Burritos, Salpicao, etc. are really reasonably priced. For those into beer and Filipino appetizers, their Chicharon Bulaklak and Sisig are pretty good as well. Service there is good and fast most of the time and the place has always been clean.

    3. Casablanca - I can't say a lot about Casablanca because I've only been to their Blvd. location a few times, but I can honestly say they serve good food. Hunter's platter is a good sampler plate, Steak is good but a bit pricey for what it is... I also got a really well done steak a couple of times when I clearly order my steak Medium Rare or Rare sometimes, Cheese soup is ok, Spatzle is good, Bruschetta was subpar, Japanese selection was below average as well (I only tried it at their old location though) . As for service, the owner is really accommodating, friendly, and approachable.

    Dropouts: Why Not and Mamia's
(Both restaurants have shown decrease in quality, service and value IMO)
