Hello everyone,
A brief word of introduction. I am retired from a federal government agency and have been married to a lovely Filipina for many years. Generally speaking, my wife and I try to visit the Dumaguete area bi-annually to visit family and friends. We are planning to be in Dumaguete mid year (2011).

I would very much appreaciate it if someone could recommend the name and address / location of a reputable motorcyle rental agency in the Dumaguete area that rents Honda Wave (or similar) type motorcycles in good working condition, well maintained and equipped with the legally required safety equipment, i.e mirrors, for example.
It would also be helpful to have an idea of the daily rental charge, bearing in mind we would like to have the motorcycle on a 24 hour basis and the rental period will be approximately one month. Am I correct to assume the usual daily rental charge would be reduced in light of the long rental period???? Many thanks in advance and kind regards.

 

First off, wecome to the forum.
No insult intended, but I don't often here the name Bubba used for guys from Canada. However, it is a very popular name in Texas where I am from.
Again welcome. I'm sure some of our members can point you in the right direction on the motor rental. I only know of one company that is nationwide in the Philippines and all they rent are Kawasaki Rouser 200, which incidently is a very good motorcycle for this area. It is a bullet-bike style with nice power and handling for one or two people. And it gets really good gas milage.
I bought one about a year ago.

 

plenty of bike rentals downtown Dumaguete, 100 - 125 cc. usually good quality. around 220-250 PHP a day. 180 - 200 if longterm.

The Kawasaki Rouser 200 sounds like an excellent bike and I will check to see if one is available when we get to Dumaguete.

Thanks, also, to Roody for the information about rental rates. I will ask my wife to practice her negotiating skills re: long term rental rate, however, we always try to be fair with these guys.
