    Welcome!

:D Davy! Well I think you introduction just about said it all.
Jack P, here saying hello and welcome to DI. Get along to Robinsons Mall and there you will find a sales stand for Camilla homes.(Albeit another name) Personally I don't not know much about them but I hear they can run out very expensive. Here we say "Buyer Beware" depending on the capital you have buying your own Lot and building is far cheaper, although unless you have a pinay wife or serious G/F the land purchase is a No No. Check through the forum and you will find information you will need to settle here. Stay, enjoy and let us know of your progress.

it should be a no no anyway. why would you want to give conrol of your happainess and security to the whims of a wife or gf. dont forget most of the guys here at one time or another thought they had found the perfect mate in the west.things can turn quickly in a relationship , would you put your land in your wifes name in the west. i dont think so

    Negative Thoughts!

 Well Governor, Maybe some us have a little more trust and understanding of our Other halves, I have had mine a long time and she has never given me any doubts to her honesty. I guess to a degree, I can see your point of view but we Foreigners are not going to build a house without them. As with anything we do here, Homework is the key, More time finding out about a partner and less time Boozing and Socialising with other foreigners can yield a good result. We have heard many times here that there is not enough Integration with our hosts. Just so I can Quantify this Statement, apart from saying hello to a few, the last foreigner I spent any time with was when Azon and I, had lunch with PatO and Crislyn, that was some 3 weeks ago, I am sure that he also will agree, that the stories we hear about not trusting Pinoy Spouses are in the minority. Bad news travels fast.

Hmmm interesting comments but i know i can trust my partner as have known here a while now,and this is the only option for me if i want to buy property!! Also i will be running 4x 10 seater jeepneys which will be built to my spec and a small internet cafe in carcar so hopefully this will give us some income so will not have to use all savings!!! Have been running my own business here in uk for 10yrs now and has been successful,if you are driven to make a good living and invest it is ok,i know it is a very different way of life and sets of rules over there, reckon we got to just work harder:smile:

Ok everyone thanks for the comments and advice but i think you have to trust someone in life,i have a great girl with a good business head on her,and i can't do this without a spouse and can't stay here in uk any longer!!!
So am going to come whatever and buy property in Dumaguete and also decided to buy and run 4 x 10 seater jeepneys around carcar and a small internet cafe, have the building already  This will atleast give us some income so i do not have to use all my savings, have looked into this in some detail now and checked the legal side,my partner will have to have 60% share in everything but this is ok,sometimes you just have to take a chance in life

    Enthusiasm.

:D Davy! I like your enthusiasm, I will agree that having the drive to succeed is a key factor to success. I for one will lookforward to your progress reports. One thing I will just say though, some time ago, a very well respected member gave me some good advice here which, I will pass on to you, When it comes to transport and IT cafes, check and double check your competition and who runs what in the city, Toes are easily broken when trodden on and I have trodden on a few in the last 5 years. (Hope you get my drift) Also, be very carefull please with the amount of information you post, don't give too much away, we know for sure that certain powers read with interest this Site and poaching buisness is at a high level. Also the head of the LTO is an avid reader and he is one man you can not afford to cross.
Please don't take this as doom and gloom, just some friendly advice for you, I know that the majority of members here would wish you well in any venture and be only too willing to help all we can. As for the negative Doubters, forget them, they only raise their heads to start an argument.:D

I've got a better idea...one that will save you a few hundred thousand dollars. Get her to the UK...get her back into school for a nursing qualification...get her to work...save wisely...retire on your expanded nest egg - and holiday in the Philippines when you like...but always free to go back home anytime...The UK (been there many many times) is about one hundredth of the hassles and BS you are about to encounter if you pursue this...

Not very clear to me, investing in business in Carcar city while buying property in Dumaguete, hours apart from each other?

Be careful as to whom you chose to be your business partner.
The last time I checked, I was told that your wife could not be your mate and business partner.
However, I did hear that she could own it all and you could work for her.
You or someone else should check this out to see if it is as I have heard.
Truth is one hard commodity which is also hard to come by here, along with most other things one might want or need.
