Fyi, for the same prescription ointment, I paid 995 at Rose Pharmacy at Robinson's and 1035 at Mercury Drugs in town, nearly 1 US$ difference.

    How Odd!

I would have thought, due to rents being a little high at Robinsons, it would have been the other way around, But then, This is Dgte.

We have found the Generics Pharmacy and the new one on the corner of Silliman and Perdices streets to beat everyone else's prices on most drugs, sometimes by quite a margin.

Jack, perhaps it is the "little guy" (Rose - 133 stores) cutting prices to compete with the "big giant" (Mercury - over 500 stores). I did see a Forbes list where the Mercury president is the 28th richest person in the Philippines.

    Not surprising!

 For a Country that seems to survive on medicines, the Guy has it right, Does Mercury Manufacturer as the name would suggest? For him to be the 28th Richest, I would think it is not just 500 shops generating that sort of wealth, What do you think?

Mercury has a loyalty program that saves you a few percent (to get after 1 year)
Just ask for it, the card is free i think.

I seem to recall Mercury Drug as one of the few-in Cebu City at least, that could be trusted to be selling genuine drugs, rather than fake drugs I guess was the implication?

I buy as many of my prescriptions as I can from Generic and haven't found any difference in quality. They are usually about half the price of Mercury. Some of the drugs produced under patents are not available at generic so I have to use either Mercury or Rose.

Yes, you must be prudent!! Shop around, it is well worth it!! I do the same as some of the other posters. I get all I can at Generics and the rest I usually go to Mercury or Rose. Generic Pharmacy can save you a ton of money, If anyone needs help cross-referencing their meds let me know...I have gotten to be quite good at it!!
