    Hi all!

My friend and I are planning a Dumaguete Trip (From Cebu City) this April 29-May1. Luckily, i found this forum.

I've checked on some travel agencies, but I was wondering if we can hire a tour guide who can help us wander around this known-to-be beautiful place.

I've searched for the must-see places and we are interested on the ff:
    - Quick city tour
    - Forest camp
    - Casaroro Falls
    - Twin Lakes
    - Apo Island
    - and.. we only have 3days/2 nights, so if time allows: Dolphin watching and/or Siquijor trip, maybe?

This is our first trip alone together, and we're looking forward for a memorable one.

Can anyone help? We would be very glad to make arrangements.

    Thank you very much!

    Thanks firefly!

I'll contact that car rental company.. I've checked on some tour packages but i'm checking for some other options. Speaking of tour packages though, do you have any travel agencies to recommend?

    Thanks for your help!

    c/p from other thread

    your itinerary is doable.

    I don't think you need a tourguide.
Most guides in Dumaguete just bring you somewhere and than you are on your own anyway and nobody will tell you much about history etc. Better ask some people right at that place for information.

Make a list what you really want to see. In the City all can be done by walking.
2nd day you could go Apo snorkling. Jeepney trip to Maslatapay and small Banka to Apo)
Alternative, call some resorts if you can join a dive-trip for a fee and just go snorkling.

the last few days the Tanon strait was pretty rough and not many dolphins to see. for Siquijor it also might be a bit squeezed but an alternative to Apo. morning going there, roundtrip around the Island, afternoon back.

    cheers

    Rhoody

Forest camp and Casaroro falls by walking ? I don't think so.
Forest camp and Casaroro falls are in Valencia and you can go to Valencia by jeepney.
Ones in Valencia you will have to make a deal with a pedicab or easyride to bring you to the 2 mentioned places.
Also Twin lakes is out of Dumaguete going North.
You can take any transportation that goes Tampi or further, ask for twin lakes, ones they drop you along the highway, you will have to walk or look for private transportation to the lakes.

I agree with Rhoody, you don't need a tour guide, and your itinerary is doable. My wife and I have given many (free) motorcycle tours of the Valencia area. Most people seem to enjoy the trip up the Okoy river to Pulangbato falls better than the trip to Casaroro. Forest Camp and Casaroro are nice, but there are more things to see on the river trip up to Pulangbato.

One could do Casaroro, Forest Camp, Pulangbato, AND the Zipline pretty easily in one day if they started in the morning.
