Maybe us foreigners are destroying the nation financially? There is some validity to the assertion that we drive up prices to some degree. But usually there is one price for Filipinos and a higher price for foreigners. I took a small survey. I found the average foreigner spends P 67,000 each month. With roughly 1,000 foreigners in the area, that means the local economy gets a monthly boost of almost 67 million pesos and an annual boost of over 854 million pesos. To put that into perspective, in order for Silliman University to match that income it would have to charge each of it’s 8,700 students tuition fees of 95 thousand pesos per semester. That makes us fat old foreigners the major single source of income for this province. Maybe that is one reason why there are new buildings, homes and malls being built all over the province. Obviously foreigners are not financially destroying the country.
So, again my Filipino friend, exactly how are foreigners destroying your country? Inquiring minds want to know.

I am also researching an article in support of a much needed Tourism Plan as suggested by First District Congressional Representative "Josie"

FIRST.... You will find I am not that popular at McDo.....nor do I go there more than once or twice a month

FINALLY People here asked to know the results of my survey.... I just was fulfilling my obligation to those here who supported me publicly and privately

so you take 8 answers ( some of them not even living here permanently or only a few month a year) and make up articles full of miss-leading statements...

wow please please get your facts straight before writing anything...

Silliman has right now over 300 foreigners studying there. not even talking about the Koreans send here for learning English in other schools.
Peters info may relay to the expats only, I got the same source with a 3.5 times higher number, but I might have asked a different question though.

serious, basing an article even partially on the number of 8 anonymous people of a public internet Forum is simply a ridiculous joke or plain attention seeking.

Well, I give you some options.

1.) I move it to the "where is humor thread?"
2.) I delete it
3.) I mark it as trolling and close it


Please don't abuse dumagueteinfo.com for spreading that kind of horrible totally wild statements.

There are many free blogs available (wordpress.com - blogspot etc.)

Open one and spread your wisdom there. I am willing to assist you with that if you are too technically challenged, but please, please don't spread that ridiculous karabow-poo on DI.

 

I would have to agree with the mod if you are basing your information as described.

 

And as usual he assumes the worst about me.... my survey..... admitted to be small.... not near the 20% required to be taken as representative.... was NOT just taken from here.... but numerous interviews..... I had people living on as little as $600 .....

AND the University has an official enrollment of 8,700 (nationality of the students is immaterial for my article).... in fact I gave them the benefit of rounding up their enrollment to 9,000 just to be fair

but lets take the figures and reduce them by 50%.....we still are the single larges source of income in the province..... (note: can not compute OFW for lack of data)

Do not understand why something that supports the role of foreigners and their importance to the area.... should generate such hostility

I put down foreigners and you get mad and call me unAmerican.....I support foreigners and you challenge and attack me.... only common denominator is ....ME... guess that tells the tale
