:( Fyi, I am having an issue with Cignal satellite, getting billed for a unit that failed and is not installed.
At the end of Dec. I had installed 2 satellite dishes and a transmission box. They did not have a cable box available for the 2nd dish. The NEXT DAY the box went dead and Cignal did not have a replacement box. They told me they had no inventory and it would be at least a month before they got a replacement box for me. The took the box away. The next day I ordered and installed Dream. The next day Cignal told me I could use their demo box. No thanks, already replaced you. I paid about p5,300 and had nothing to show for it. I asked for a reimbursement. Instead, I received a bill yesterday for Dec. and Jan. total p4,4901. This will be an interesting battle.

What plan did you subscribe to(590/990 or 1290)? I was told the installation fee was only P2000, with a P1000 for the cable, (my new house is already rigged for TV, phone, internet, so I don't need their cable).

I had the 1290 plan. Yes, they charged me 4000 for the installation, Dream was 1500. You will need a cable from the satellite dish (which needs to be mounted on a 12 foot pole) to your house. I has the raceway already installed so they just had to run the cable through.
The issue is they have no inventory and have to resupply through Mindanao, based on what I was told, and Mindanao had no inventory and no commitment date for resupply. Plus they had the nerve to bill me for the non-refundable deposit which I paid cash for when I signed up at their office. Very p*ss poor run office here.

Cignal's position is hey we offered you the use of our demo unit. They forget they offered me that after I told them I already signed up with Dream. I would not accept their business because they have no spares and they already proved their boxes are crap.

    Good saying I think!

 SO! Sue me. Pat it is easy for us to say BUT! that would be my answer. NO equipment! No Contract! On yer Bike and peddle! Robinson's tried the same with our Fridge/Freezer, I paid the deposit by International Visa, I told them if you DO NOT change to another make, I WILL have it reversed. 2 days later a different F/F arrived and still works to this day. As we say, there is more ways than one to skin a cat.:D

    Hope it gets sorted.

Hi PatO, I'm sorry to hear of your troubles, hope everything will be sorted in the speediest of ways....
Just a question: I'm not an expert and correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that if there is a clear and un-obstructed path to the satellite's orbiting above, then the dish can be mounted at ground level, this is the way I've fixed mine here in the UK. All you need is a dish of the appropriate size, a ground mount, a LNB (dual LNB if you plan to use more then one receiver), a satellite cable and the receiver box and of course the relevant CAM and CIM of the channels one is keen on watching.
Here is a useful weblink with all frequencies and sat locations.....
    LyngSat - Lyngemark Satellite
    Hope it helps....

Union Jack, you could very well be right, and the incompetent company once again had me pay for something I didn't need. I have a clear path up toward the equator, no trees or obstructions. I did see around the corner from me a satellite dish from another company at ground level.
