 After Reading and watching news Videos of the Japan tragedy, coming to terms with this was one thing, NOW! To-day I have witnessed, what is yet, another Sad Day in my life. As I was Leaving Gibraltar to go back to Spain, A squadron of Tornado Fighter planes was making ready for flight, in the distance stood 3 C130's loading troops bound for Libya, off the coast were an Assault Carrier, 3/4 what I think, were Destroyers making head way for the Open Med Sea, We are told that The US base in ROTA Spain is on Red Alert and I have seen more US Strike Aircraft, than I ever did, during my service days. Heading we are told to bases in Italy and Sicily. According to the Spanish news, the Spanish Air Air Force Base in Madrid has already dispatched 2 Squadrons to the area. For you US members, USS Ulysses and USS Winston Churchill have been seen off the coast of Greece. According to a News cast from Brazil by Mr Obama, he has pledged Air support only at this time. The British PM, Mr Cameron, has welcomed all support from those UN members combining forces to rid this Evil. Mr Obam has said much the same. Seems that once again, we have come together in yet another Ugly task. As an ex-military man, my heart goes out to all the lads, doing their jobs. No matter what uniform they wear. Oppression must be stopped but it is a sad Day indeed. Lets hope they all come back.

Jack, good message. Unfortunately, action has been taken and although I haven't fully grasped what we can accomplish only from the air, and O'Bamma says he will not send in any marines, maybe it will bring stability to a country in unrest and an alleged dictator that may have to be ousted. Given Libya oil, I imagine prices will rise regardless.

How many countries across what span of earth does a nation have to be at combat/war in before it can be said "WORLD WAR" ??? I think world war sneaks up one drop at a time, one plane and ship and tank at a time, one country at a time until one day wake up and world war is there...

    Donations

Hi folks, I was told that Colonel Gaddafi has "helped" the Philippines in many ways in the recent past, donating vast sums of money and cheap petrol, in particular to the locals in the souther island of Mindanao.....guess this was not invested into buying suntan cream:wink:

Would it be possible that he financed all the crooks and the massacre in Ampatuan, Mindanao??????? Get the feeling that Khadafi is not to be trusted.

    What a guy!
