We live a couple km up the hill above Valencia. I tried Smart Bro. Didn't work.
Signed up for Globe WiFi last year. During that time, there was a period of a couple of weeks it worked just fine. For the past three months, however, it has been almost useless. We complained to Globe three times. They sent up technicians who fiddled around with the height and orientation of the antenna, but it never gets much better. I'd like to cancel the rest of our two year contract. I know Globe will take the position of "NO WAY, JOSE!" Have any of you tried to cancel with Globe before? Are any of you having the same problem with connectivity that we are?

If so, maybe we can for a group effort to complain to them in unison. Short of that, I'm going to file an "official" complaint with them along with a unilateral notice of cancellation. They will say, no. I will quit making monthly payments. They will start dunning us for payment. I will hire an attorney to get them off my back. Then.............who knows????

We do not have access to cable up here, so it has to be wireless, whoever provides service.

Check out ItQuest across from Hyperpart also across the street from the Gas station there. Sorry I don't know the street names. They do not have a great reputation but the ownership has changed. They are wireless and they still have some issues but I have found them to be very responsive when contacted about problems. Others may not agree.

They will be more expensive than both Smart and Globe and you have to pay the install cost. On the upside I believe the contract can be canceled with 30 days notice if things do not work out.

In my case they asked for half the install up front and the rest after they had things working. I got the Techs cell when he was out and when I have a problem he is the first I contact if I can't resolve it myself.

so far I have been mostly pleased with both the service and the product.

I had Globe installed on 3/23, had a brown out (surprise - see Shadow's post) and it killed the Globe modem box on 3/26, not power, signal, or wiggle. Called cust serv, said would fix in two days and gave me a ref no., no show, called again, no repair order showing in their system. Will go wait in line tomorrow to try and get the mofo fixed. Alternative, I kept my SmartBro attach dial up piece of working crapola.

Oh yes, they did.. and that was long time ago.. and i did not bother what ever globe send me.

All i can advice for you is, keep calling them for assistance, that's what i did & until such time that you will decide not to pay anymore, i'm sure they will see that you have lots of complaints logs and still no fix.

M Globe internet modem went out, no power, called their 211 help desk, said repair would occur within 2 days, no show, went to their cust service office today, found out the help desk logged the problem in as my cell phone account instead of internet. My backup 1 is a Globe Tatoo, cannot get a signal in Bacong, backup 2 is SmartBro attach, works but slow.

Why not try for PLDT, they're new here in Dumaguete... I think they reach Valencia since I saw them fixing their line at the road bound to Valencia. Their connection is good, like my 1mbps subscription, I receive more than 1 mbps... its all worth!!! Globe sucks, I tried that canopy wifi, globe wimax to be exact and guess what its 25 gig limited per month, its never unlimited like what they advertise on tv!

i live in bayawan negros oriental and i pay 2,000 peso a month for 2 mb/ps for the last 3 weeks the best i have receive is 0.75 sometimes it is 0.25 i cannot run youtube,if this was a developed country they would be pulled before fare trades and council and if found guilty they would be fined millions and they would not do it again..however this is the PHILIPPINES and the golden rule is HE WHO HAS THE GOLD,MAKES THE RULES.if the dumaguete maneger of globe went in to a store and purchase 2 pair of shoes and when he got home found he only had 1 shoe in the box he would not be happy..and i have to purchase the 2 pair of shoes again next month or they will put they hound dogs on to me,this is not fair!!
