I just got scammed at first they talk as if very educated and wanted to deposit your payment to bank or instant wire transfer like ML kwarta padala etc. I insist to pay her via Paypal but she insist to sent it via kwarta padala of Mhuiller, thinking she's a Bisaya so I trust her and look what I got...I've been scammed. After I sent the payment they can no longer be contacted. Im a victim of this girl name Nelfa Calinacion from Dipolog city with a seller name on ebay.com.ph as gadget_distributor. If you search her name lately at google, a lot will appear and more at if you type at google search ebay.com.ph scammers ....Be careful guys!

Thanks for the warning, doubt many foreigners would use that approach. Sorry you got screwed. Old saying, if you screw once, shame on you, if you screw me twice, shame on me.

tons of that on ebay philippines as well as ayosdito and a few other sites.

If they don't use paypal, DO NOT buy. Nothing more to say.

Speaking of scams. here's one of MANY for car sales.

An original ad is placed by a sometimes genuine seller like this:

    Ford Explorer AT - 01 - Cars for sale NCR - AyosDito.ph

Now the scammers go online, copy and past the original photos into their own ad at usually very low prices. They get a buyer to send the money and sometimes use even a middle man (impound account) that's also fraudulent. Here's how the exact same truck above is now listed three more times for purposes of a scam:

    Ford Explorer AT - 01 - Cars for sale NCR - AyosDito.ph

    Ford Explorer AT - 01 - Cars for sale NCR - AyosDito.ph

    Ford Explorer AT - 01 - Cars for sale NCR - AyosDito.ph

You can see it's the exact same truck, same photos...just all different scammers. Note the 3 scam ads don't have a phone number. Email is the only option and you get a letter back similar to this:

to ask any questions you may have.
    > I hope you understand English because I don't write filipino language so well, I
worked in Philippines for just 1 year and now I got back to London, United
Kingdom. The car is registered in Philippines with filipino license plates. It is
in excellent condition, garage kept, no accidents, no scratches, no dents and no
    need for additional repairs.
    > I have all the necessary documents to make the sale, including the deed of sale.
As we speak the car is inspected and prepared to be shipped by a shipping company,
a safe world wide shipping company that I used before. The shipping time to all
Asia is about 7-10 working days.
    > The final price is PHP 250 000 including shipping and insurance, so you don't
have to worry about extra taxes or costs.
    > If you are interested please reply me so I can give you further information.

PayPal is indeed good insurance, but sometimes PayPal gets scammed too, and their "investigations" can tie up your money for 1-2 months!

Buyers beware, but sellers need to beware also!!

It is extremely easy in the Philippines for a buyer to dispute a credit card transaction, saying they never received an item, or that it is damaged. Sellers need to document EVERYTHING before shipping an item! Pictures! Shipping receipts! Confirmed acceptance receipts! (LBC does a great job of this!)

Payment and delivery of the goods in person is always best, 2nd is PayPal, 3rd credit card (NOT a debit card!). I've sold a lot of things online in the Philippines and in the U.S. It never ceases to amaze me when people ask how they can pay (in the Philippines) and THEY prefer making a direct bank deposit over PayPal!! I think PayPal is not as well known in the Philippines as it is in the U.S. and some Filipinos can't figure out how to use it! It seems like some of them would rather save face by not asking how to use it.

Another common ploy is that the item is actually in a foreign country and needs to be shipped to you! NEVER buy anything online this way except through PayPal! If you use any other form of payment you have NO recourse!

Another common problem, is that the seller has no stock, and doesn't know when he will get any, but sells an item anyways, putting off the buyer as long as possible!

    Sellers and buyers beware!

    Never Alone!

 You are never alone with a scammer, Even Scammers get scammed. Always look in the top Tray when Buying things, there is a Pad Lock Icon, if it is open, then the site is NOT safe, if it is closed, then it is considered to be safe. VISA is a safegaurd. VISA will refund if the site is Shown to be unsafe. just a thought but worth a check when buying on line.

interesting enough if you have any experience with scamming you find out that scammers can be some of the easiest people to scam. Not with their scam of course but they can be very naive in terms of a different one
