We were just stopped at an LTO checkpoint on south hiway. I have a car with a license plate and registration that was purchased this past December. The officer asked for license and registration, after reviewing he asked for the LTO sticker. I didn't know what that is and didn't have one. He wanted to take my license and have me go to the LTO and show them the sticker in order to get it back. I said no way, what sticker. He said the LTO sticker. I said wait, I just bought the car in December and the registration is good for 3 years, but he wanted the LTO sticker. I said wait, I will call the car dealer, car dealer told me LTO has no 3 year stickers available to hand out. I asked him to tell that to the officer and gave him the phone. They talked and the officer gave me back my license. I told him that is an LTO problem, not my problem. Turns out the LTO sticker is one you attach to your window under the car dealer sticker, that is why they pulled me over. Meanwhile, the ice cream in the bag was melting.

Next to the melted ice-cream you got away fine.
Having said that, it shows that the traffic controller was actually right but was also ready to listen to you and talk to your dealer to clarify things.

That can't be said about all officials here. A nice and very positive experience IMHO.

I agree Rhoody, I am glad the officer had the balls to give me back my license. It is a good heads up for all in that you can get stopped here, car or bike, and better have a valid drivers license and registration, and if you are lucky enough, an LTO sticker.
By the way, there was not hint or suggestion the officer was looking for money, merely a legitimate stop by a professional.
