⌛ Reproductive Health Bill related news...

For those unfamiliar with the Reproductive Health Bill, its a program designed to educate and make contraceptives to poorer families throughout the Philippines.

And as usual, some Catholics are doing their best to do away with this program because the goal is educating people about reproductive health and providing them with contraceptives.

Living here and seeing the staggering degree of poverty these families get trapped in and also seeing children with obvious signs of malnutrition because their parents cannot afford to feed all their kids...


What do you guys think about this?

 

Sadly, I am reminded of the problem every day when I look at the kids in the orphanage directly across the street from my house. I am a Catholic but take issue with their view on birth control, divorce (can't remarry in the church), and their inability to properly address priest molesters over the years.

 

We all have choices in life
Whether we are poor or rich or a believer or not, however some people need something or someone to blame or hit out at. If I am aware that I cant afford to have more children then maybe love instead of lust should be the priority.

"some Catholics are doing their best to do away with this program". I'm afraid that this is the understatement of the year. Last year, the Catholic bishops threatened to excommunicate President Aquino if he supported this bill. Courageously, he stood up to them, and they backed down. Locally, if you read the Negros Chronicle, you'll see each week a column by Fr. Gammy Tulabing, first ripping homosexuality, then any method of birth control other than the rhythm method (which we all know doesn't work), and now he's taking apart the Reproductive Health Bill. One can only hope that Pinoys will stand up to this form of tyranny and bigotry, and pass the bill despite the church's objection.

 

Absolutely abhorrent. How could McDo even think of putting such a condescending commercial on the air to begin with? Everyone knows that condoms cause abortions!

If McD's could bring the wrath of the church in a mild 30 second spot, obviously they don't watch ABSCBN.

 

heard rumors if you eat there you don't need one anyway... don't they add also "Hangolin" as a preservative in the coffee.

but hey sharing fries... you can't show that not enough blood and gore; and thats not limited to ABSCBN, you can look at each newspaper.

before x-mas they showed a movie-trailer for Piranha in a kiddie movie here..

 

The British Government introduce Sex Education into Schools and handed out leaflet's regarding Sexually Transmitted Diseases, they also gave away free condoms to anyone who requested them. Any female can go and get the morning after pill from any Phamacy. They now insist on teaching Sex Education to Junior School Kids.
Guess What! UK has the highest Abortion record in Europe! Please don't Blame the Catholic Church for that too. I will not comment any futher on this Subject regards .....JB

 

The catholic church: probably the biggest bullsh*t establishment in the world. Perhaps they should clean up their mess first. We all know what I'm talking about, don't we?
