I'd like to find out who is supplying their Granny Smith green apples. One of the crew said they are from the US, but I'd think they are being distributed to them rather than a direct shipment..

    Singapore and Hong Kong

According to www.findarticles.com.com most non native fruit in the PI is imported from the US Via Singapore and Hong Kong. Robinson's I would guess are big enough to Buy bulk and distribute themselves to their own stores. As to granny Smiths, I would doubt any other outlet, would have this type of purchasing Power and Distribution net work.
FYI, S.USA well anyone I guess, The granny Smith originated in Australia in 1868, propagated from a seedling by Mrs Mary Ann (Granny) Smith. It is one of Australia's biggest exports to this day www.produceoasis.com-folder/fruits/Gsmith.html According to a little deeper research, The US send Granny Smiths from Washington (State) as they grow well in late summer and refrigerated to give year round supply. (Same Source) They have to be the best Apple to date and it is a shame more are not available in Dgte. According to Gardnersworld.com - Gardeners World and Gardening World there are some lookalikes all around the World, only by tasting, can the difference be told.
If the granny smith you bought is anything but Mild Sweet, It is most definitely not a GS. Other green lookalikes are Bitter in the main.
